mutha fuckin' chainswords. Seems alright but i'm a bit iffy on the whole borderlands gameplay style they've went with. Spose I'll just have to wait and see
i get the feeling that these futuristic assets are related to hard reset in some way
Looks fun so far; but like the previous game they gotta work on their first person gun animations!
i get the feeling that these futuristic assets are related to hard reset in some way
They said themselves the whole setting is a homage to HR. They also said there are even some enemie(s) that were taken straight from HR.
it's missing a lot of charm from the first game, 12 minutes and he has like 1 one liner i get from the last game that he's [sp]humble now after the last game's ending[/sp] but that's no fun i really don't like the borderlands style they're going with this, that means mooks that are supposed to be killed in two blows are now tanky af, and maybe i'm the odd one out, but i never liked borderlands style of gameplay due to weapons feeling like they had no impact, but rather that you had a pellet gun shooting hundreds of bullets at things with the only effect being their red bar is getting smaller i guess it looks pretty

I get the comparisons to borderlands because of the weapon stats but I don't agree. Borderlands was too much like an RPG where the actual item doesn't matter as much and you're just trying to get best in slot from the stats. This looks more like a hybrid between a game where there are a lot of weapons but you can only hold a few and a more traditional FPS where you're carrying everything you need. The different weapons look like they have way more work put into them to make them unique.
damage numbers and health bars for EVERY enemy? (plus everything that's been mentioned in this thread before) i have to say i'm not liking the direction this sequel is going
I think the weapons are pretty cool, I just wish they'd put half as much effort into the enemy design and variety as they seem to be putting into the weapons. Doesn't look quite as bad as the last game but still none of them were at all memorable or interesting. The floating ball things were probably the most memorable and that's not saying much.
I think the damage numbers would be better if they were integrated into the blood of the enemies such as shooting a flesh enemy would cause a splatter of 32 to come out but then you wouldn't be able to tell what kind of damage you're doing

Also, could just use different colored blood depending on the element or maybe add some sort of effect to the number?

It looks like it doesn't and that's the biggest problem I have, because it'll end up making combat feel flat if it's just a matter of higher numbers and spam instead of accuracy and finesse being part of it.
I hope you can turn the numbers off.
Adding some co-op dungeon crawler mechanics seems the logical way to extend this games replayability, I don't mind it. I welcome D2 clone FPS thats not borderlands
Hmm, I like it that they didn't went too bananas with the diablo stuff.
