The Government won double Paralympic Gold for unpopularity tonight with David Cameron and George Osborne both being booed.
The hapless pair hoped being seen at the London Paralympics would boost their popularity.
But when the Prime Minister was spotted on the big screen at the Aquatics Centre the capacity crowd began loudly booing.
He looked taken a back and, moments later, he presented British teenager Ellie Simmonds with her second gold medal.
Just a few hours later Chancellor of the Exchequer Osborne received the same treatment.
It happened when he appeared on the big screen before a medal presentation in front of a 80,000-strong crowd in the Olympic Stadium.
Osborne gave a nervous laugh as the boos rang out around the packed arena and looked sheepish as he gave gold to Tunisia’s T38 400m champion Mohamed Farhat Chida.
The Government has come under fire from disabled rights groups for awarding a contract to assess “fit for work” assessments to Paralympic sponsor Atos.
A series of rallies have been staged by activists in the past week in protest at the tests which they say are ‘damaging and distressing.’
I hate to use the Mirror but I can't find any other articles, and I need a text source because the video is probably blocked outside the UK
EDIT: Fuck the h8ers, it's been picked up by other sources now
If he was hoping for some signs of improvement on recent poll findings showing that he is the most unpopular member of the government, George Osborne was in for a rude awakening at the Olympic stadium.
A chorus of boos rang out from the crowds at the announcer's mention of Osborne's name shortly before the Chancellor of the Exchequer presented medals to the winners of the Men's T38 400 metres, in which Mohamed Farhat Chida of Tunisia took gold.
Osborne, who admitted at the weekend that it was "not surprising" that the holder of his position was unpopular, appeared intent on laughing off the reaction and footage of him looking around and giggling, albeit with a hints of nervousness, was soon going viral on the internet.
However, a rather contrasting reaction to Gordon Brown as he presented medals to winners in the swimming, suggested that Paralympic crowds are not necessarily hostile to all politicians.
The former prime minister got a hearty cheer from the crowd when his name was called out, although it it was still some way off the roar that greeted London Mayor Boris Johnson during the closing ceremony of the Olympics.
Meanwhile, a less than enthusiastic reception was in store for the current prime minister, David Cameron, who cheered Ellie Simmonds on to her second gold medal of games and congratulated her in person when he later presented her with her gold medal.
While he was not welcomed with universal applause, cheers were reported to have drowned out booing heard from the crowd.
Simmonds said she was proud to welcome the prime minister to "her place".
"I've met him at his house, in number 10. It's great to meet him in my place, really, at the pool," she said.
The culture secretary, Jeremy Hunt, was also seen at the Aquatics Centre during Simmonds's race.
Haha, this is priceless.
Is it just me, or does Cameron have one of the least likeable and most punchable faces possible?
Which is very appropriate when you consider the man himself.
That second photo
"What the fuck am I doing here"

Look at that face.
That face belongs to a man who's just been slapped in the face with a shit sandwich, and been told that's all you get to eat for the next 2 years.
And he has to fucking like it.
I'm not taking this to be true at the moment.
The Daily Mirror is very left-wing and hate the Tories to the point where they could easily make this stuff up.
EDIT: And I can't get the video to work right now
EDIT2: Well that was a quick fix. That really was nothing and it's clearly just that villain label that comes with the job that isn't exactly a personal thing. You try doing that job and remaining popular.
I'm sorry, but if you can only find the Mirror as a written source then I would question the accuracy of the story...

Are you happy now
This is really interesting. I wonder if it is to do with their policy on welfare or just the public general hatred towards him.
probably welfare seeing as they didn't get booed at the olympics
Yeah politics and that but this is really inconsiderate towards the athletes. They're getting a medal presented to them and people are focused on booing these guys.
I love how pretty much everyone in Britain permanently dislikes the current government.
It's because the Coalition has fucked over disabled people in the time they've been in, slashing and removing welfare for a wide range of disabilities such as multiple sclerosis.
damn it britain think of the olympians!

As someone from another country I personally find his face very punchable, he looks like a stuck-up asshole.

i would consider cheering them alot more inconsiderate.
Cameron and Osbourne have absolutely zero charm or grace. They're not very good with words and make very empty speeches. The only reason they got such a large vote was because Brown's charm and lyrical ability is in the minus numbers.
I wish Romney's visit could have been a little later, he could have presented a medal and gotten booed by literally everyone in the stadium including the athletes and commentators

National Boo Quota?
Expected Ozzy Osbourne.
As much as I dislike them (especially Osbourne), I don't think this was the right place and time to be booing.
When is the next major election? I am curious as to how Cameron and Clegg have influenced their respective parties' ability in the next election.

The only problem then is labour has a greater chance of getting in, and Ed Milliband has a more punchable face than Cameron.

When you get the chance, you take it.
When is the next major election? I am curious as to how Cameron and Clegg have influenced their respective parties' ability in the next election.
Well, Cameron could still pull through IF his / Osbourne's policies work and the economy significantly improves before the election.
Clegg has basically resigned the Lib Dems to another decade of obscurity because no-one trusts him an inch, he went back on every election promise and the only thing he's doing in government is keeping Cameron and Osborne in.

Lib Dems are going to get murdered. Oh and Labour are already 5 points ahead.
I wouldn't mind Labour getting in power if they at least said something other than "Phew the conservatives aren't doing a job are they"

I'm really getting sick of these long titles.
