WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama has signed into law a $9.7 billion bill to pay flood insurance claims from Superstorm Sandy.
The law increases the borrowing authority of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. FEMA had warned that it was set to run out of money without additional dollars from Congress.
The White House said more than 100,000 flood claim payments from Sandy would be delayed without the additional money.
The House has yet to act on a larger, more comprehensive Sandy aid package. Republican leaders did not bring the bill to the floor before the last session of Congress adjourned.
House Speaker John Boehner has promised a vote Jan. 15 on that $51 billion package, and Senate leaders have promised a vote the following week.

So next vote on the 15th includes almost all of the pork barreling funding towards hollywood ,nascar and even replacing a roof. I actually agree with boehner separating this. It's a damn shame that our representatives specifically mine are letting this happen and tacking shit on to serious relief needed to these areas.
He's still a dick.
He took his time.
gee thanks, boner.
There should be a law on bill riders. If it doesn't directly correlate to the bill, it should not be in the bill, then we wouldn't have to deal with so much pork barreling or the NDAA law.
And he wouldn't have done this had Christie not fucking called him out on it.

I hate that shit, but what I hate more are people who have no idea that it exists. People who are all up in arms about the NDAA, not realizing that it's the defense budget with a ton of shit thrown on.
He only did this because people gave him shit for not doing it earlier. He is incompetent.
That's how criticism works?

And he shouldn't have to need criticism to supply fucking aid to disaster victims.
