Absolutely hilarious HQ video.
I think the release of the R8 Revolver was the greatest showcase of their lack of care. It was such a shitshow, I don't understand how they managed to fuck up so bad.
I still don't understand who asked for the R8.
Valve's love of money asked for it. Also, late rating, when the video was posted 4 hours ago. edit: okay damn u bastards
I can't wait for the next operation because I really want to be playing some custom levels. It's been so long since the last one.
god this video is so true it hurts. Hopefully we get the next operation after the major
All they need to do is implement 128 tick servers and people will shut up about the skin updates.

while I appreciate the variety of memes I'd rather not ever see fake gaben, he's the least funny thing ever [editline]3rd January 2017[/editline]
I think the release of the R8 Revolver was the greatest showcase of their lack of care. Like a housewife that's used to the beatings, more or less

I enjoyed this video more than expected

Ha, thats a great video as well. Thanks for posting!
I still don't understand who asked for the R8.
I like revolvers in games, but jesus fuck, that was a shit show.
while I appreciate the variety of memes I'd rather not ever see fake gaben, he's the least funny thing ever
The fake interview was probably one of the funniest things I ever watched because of how absurd the whole thing is, especially at the end where he starts crying. If anything it's mocking people who idolized Gabe as if he was the second coming of jesus christ for PC gaming. Don't talk shit about uncle gubsy.
Meanwhile in TF2 land:
TF2 is 10 years old, it's surprising they're even still updating the game, much less adding new content.
When is Valve going to stop updating Dota 2 and CS:GO and give us more VR games?
Ricochet VR. I'd actually put money on that being a thing soon enough.
Valve used to care, then came greenlight and cosmetics.
When is Valve going to stop updating Dota 2 and CS:GO and give us more VR games?
Vive not having a big first party title is a fucking joke.
Valve used to care, then came greenlight and cosmetics.
Nothing wrong with Greenlight IMO. Edit: Multiple facepunchers have been able to get their games on Steam due to Greenlight.
I'd actually be down is Valve were to focus on hardware. Steam Machines have failed as far as i know but the Steam Link and Controller are both things that i now use on a daily basis, i'd say let the Steam Keyboard and Steam Mouse come
Nothing wrong with Greenlight IMO.
It was really promising, and prior to it taking root, I'd agree that it was a good idea. Prior, any game that got on Steam needed the official blessing of Valve, so it was mostly big name companies with the occasional indie game. With greenlight, it would have given lesser known companies and indie devs a better chance by letting the community interest choose what games got on. But as we all witnessed, community voting makes for terrible quality control. It opened the floodgates for all games: good, bad, and broken.

Its really easy to not buy shitty/broken games when you just exercise a little self control and don't fall for hype.
Got into CS:GO in the last week but after seeing this and some bizarre hit reg in game myself I give up. Got a decent knife too out of a random case I opened, nice little £85 for wasting my time I suppose
Nothing wrong with Greenlight IMO. Edit: Multiple facepunchers have been able to get their games on Steam due to Greenlight.
And had to compete for visibility with shovelware. Greenlight needs fixing.
I thought they fixed the hit reg stuff though? CS:GO is a really good game still IMO.
Possibly, but everyone I know who used to play it constantly has given up due to the massive amount of issues so I have to play with toxic Russians and Turkish people which isn't fun either. I honestly wish there was a way they let you filter based on language, you have to play at a disadvantage when you're the only person on your team speaking English while everyone else is communicating in another language. The hit reg issues are minor in comparison to me tbh, the community on the EU servers is pretty bad
But they radically improved the store front with curators and user reviews. Its really easy to not buy shitty/broken games when you just exercise a little self control and don't fall for hype.
Those improvements, as well as refunds, have helped the situation greatly. But those address the symptoms, rather than the root cause: excuses of games getting on Steam in the first place. Unfortunately, short of establishing rigorous standards and a dedicated team akin to Nintendo's Seal of Quality, I don't know of a better alternative. Valve has had an unspoken standard of developing efficient and self sustaining systems to address continuous problems instead of just throwing people at them. This I can understand from a organizational standpoint: developing dedicated teams with the culture to perpetuate themselves to a high standard indefinitely is hard.
TF2 is 10 years old, it's surprising they're even still updating the game, much less adding new content.
In terms of competitive gameplay if you can find a game that matches the skill ceiling and fast pace that doesn't rely on ultimate abilities then I'll change game tbh, overwatch just didn't do it for me personally.
I thought they fixed the hit reg stuff though? CS:GO is a really good game still IMO.
Yeah it is mostly fixed at this point and most of the people who complain about it now are just bad
