Anyone here enjoy that noble sport that I and surely some of you love?
I want a longboard but I can't afford one.
I love longboarding. I'm resting my feet on my Tan Tien right now. I also have a Longboard Larry Humu. The snow is interfering with my riding time however.
I skateboarded for years, then late last year got to try out a longboard for the first time and fell in love. Unlucky time to start really, I think I did it for about a month and then weather here was too wet to carry on. Got a beast in my garage that I bought off a friend, it does everything alright but for just plain speed it beats everyone else that I have longboarded with. Summer is gonna be sweet.
I got my mindless hunter but Am planing on getting a kilima archer from lush.the weathers shit here too.
long boards are pretty sick, i see lots of people around campus who ride them i know a few people who ride them and they are fun as shit to ride i dont really skate though, i just smoke weed and trip
I started skating but then friends decided to take up longboarding and I got hooked too.
I want to get a longboard for college. The college I want to attend, is in a downtown city area. Longboarding to my classes would be so nice
I skateboarded for a few years, but stopped about 2 years ago when I fell off a grind rail and snapped my arm. The bone didn't come out, but it shifted so there was an overlap. Most painful thing I've ever experienced. I still have a picture of the X-ray somewhere, I'll see if I can find it.
Fractured my Wrist while learning to freeboard. Went to hospital and got it braced. Next day I was back on my longboard on the long flat outside my house. I cant give it up because I love it too much.
I wasn't able to practice martial arts for a good few months after my break (and ended up practically losing my 3rd dan), and I enjoy martial arts far more than I enjoyed skateboarding, so I decided it wasn't really worth it.
Ah, Thats cool too. I dont have the patience for martial arts and stuff.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I started kung fu when I was 5 years old, but couldn't be arsed with all the different stances and katas. I ended up switching to Kickboxing which I did until I was 16. I took up kung fu when I was 9 and I've been doing that since, I absolutely love it.
Any of you longboarders can recommend me one? I really want to save some money up to get one.
Any of you longboarders can recommend me one? I really want to save some money up to get one.
Depends what you want to do. Downhill, cruising, sliding or parks?
Hopefully will have enough for an Apex 34 by the time I start uni such a nice board
Any of you longboarders can recommend me one? I really want to save some money up to get one.
a bamboo board rated like 7 or something is a good start i think. it's what i road when i started out.
I started with my mindless hunter because its cheap and a good board. £80/£90 most places like www.longboardsuk.com
Depends what you want to do. Downhill, cruising, sliding or parks?
Cruising mostly.
Cruising mostly.
the hunter then deffinately. plenty of flex, pintail and softish wheels. all for £80/90
i wish my brother hadn't dismantled his long board. he has no use for it now and it would make doughnut runs like 3 times as fast
i wish my brother hadn't dismantled his long board. he has no use for it now and it would make doughnut runs like 3 times as fast
What board was it and ask if you can steal the parts and repace the parts that you need. much cheaper than buying a new one.
it was bamboo and shaped in a pretty funky way. I'm pretty sure it's lying around in pieces here somewhere, and i've been told my brother is much less of the dick he used to be so if i asked my rents i could probably score a free board. I'm certain he sold my skate board to someone.
My first one was a shitty sector nine board. It was heavy, slow, and barely turned. After a bit I bought a Tan Tien. My mind was blown at how awesome longboarding can be. Now I ride my Humu to school and back everyday. I fucking love longboarding.
I was thinking about buying this when I have the money for it. Or should I build my own?
The places around here you can build your own skateboard. basically you just pick out all the parts that make up the board and they assemble it professionally for you. i presume they do this with longboards too, the people are generally pretty knowledgeable about this shit so you could go in with only a little bit of research (just so you know they don't rip you off) and come out with a board perfect for you. I'd recommend doing this if there are places around you who do it.
Yeah, I did all the research and picked out all the parts. There's going to be a good bit of mark up if you buy from a store instead of online however. But if you buy from a store you're spreading the stoke, and keeping a community going. Just matters which is worth it to you. Anyway I bought mine from a skate shop, when I wasn't intending to buy anything that day. They were awesomely knowledgeable and I could have gone in there knowing almost nothing.
I used to skateboard for years. I never learned any major tricks but I didn't really want to. I tried really hard to learn at first because my friends did, but I just loved riding a skateboard around town. All I really needed to know was to push and to ollie, no intense shit for me, just a ride. Longboards are the shit too.
