[release]Today, DC Comics gave readers a first look at Ivan Reis and Joe Prado's variant cover for "Earth Two" #1 written by James Robinson with art by Nicola Scott. Revealed on the publisher's blog, The Source, the cover features dynamically different costume designs for Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Robinson's "Earth 2," part of DC's "Second Wave" of the New 52 hitting in May, marks the premiere of the Justice Society in the post-"Flashpoint" DCU and, according to DC Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras, will help continue the world building of the new DCU by focusing on the whole of the parallel world. "I think one of the things that I was very gratified with with the New 52 initially was that people took what we did -- we freshened up some characters, we presented them in a different light, we gave them this new start and we built up this great, great excitement," Harras told CBR in January. "'Earth 2,' as part of the 'Second Wave,' is world-building. We're creating a bigger, larger epic that will encompass different worlds, different characters, and 'Earth 2' is very integral to that plan. More so than just calling it 'JSA,' we wanted to say, no, this is about a parallel world and what that parallel world will mean to our world down the line. Again, we have long-term plans." Reis and Prado's "Earth 2" #1 variant is the most current in a series of reveals this week from DC, following Ian Churchill's art for "The Ravagers," and announcing artistic shifts for "Animal Man," "Resurrection Man," "Birds of Prey" and "Suicide Squad." Other previously announced changes occurring in May with the launch of the "Second Wave" include Rob Liefeld taking over "Deathstroke," "The Savage Hawkman" and "Grifter;" Peter Milligan assuming writing duties for "Stormwatch," Jeff Lemire scribing "Justice League Dark" and writer Matt Kindt taking on "Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E."[/release] Source
Should have made Batman's cape take up more space in the lower left corner IMO.
Should have made Batman's cape take up more space in the lower left corner IMO.
Cover is ruined!
cape too small, 0/10 I like how "dynamically different costumes" means "Superman's S is a bit higher up and he finally learned what underwear meant, Batman's slightly pointier, and Wonder Woman now dresses 50% more conservatively (we added a miniskirt!)" Sure, she actually has armor on her legs and... one of her arms, but she's still wearing a swimsuit. Better than Starfire, though. /commencing shitstorm
why are you whining about batman he's shoving a baton through that things fucking skull he's badass wow who needs a cape
why are you whining about batman he's shoving a baton through that things fucking skull he's badass wow who needs a cape
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that part. He just fucking killed two guys with electric batons through the face. I'm not sure if that's against his character or not. But it's fucking awesome. Also, why is Superman's costume slightly ripped on his ass nobody wants to see that
cape too pointy -1/10 Looks p.cool though.
who needs a cape
No one

I guess the actual execution is pretty good, but I got no love for clusterfucks.

Also, why is Superman's costume slightly ripped on his ass nobody wants to see that
They're Parademons. More or less non-living animates created by Darkseid. So Batman doesn't really have an issue with slaughtering them.
why are you whining about batman he's shoving a baton through that things fucking skull he's badass wow who needs a cape
The 4m long and 6m wide cloak is what makes Batman the Batman he is. Period.
Also, why is Superman's costume slightly ripped on his ass nobody wants to see that
Rated disagree. [editline]11th February 2012[/editline]
Rob Liefeld taking over "Deathstroke," "The Savage Hawkman" and "Grifter;"
:suicide:
Frankly, how much worse can DC make their comics with the launch of the New 52?
People still read comic books?
It's Earth 2. No one gives a fuck about Earth 2, it's like anticipating new reveals in Marvel's Ultimate universe, no one cares.
It's Earth 2. No one gives a fuck about Earth 2, it's like anticipating new reveals in Marvel's Ultimate universe, no one cares.
Actually, Ultimate is a fairly big deal over at Marvel, so that's not really a fair comparison.
Actually, Ultimate is a fairly big deal over at Marvel, so that's not really a fair comparison.
I think part of the reason for that is that they can big up huge events like "The Death of Spider-Man" without really meaning it.
They're Parademons. More or less non-living animates created by Darkseid. So Batman doesn't really have an issue with slaughtering them.
There are several instances of Parademons becoming independent and forming their own personalities when given the chance, though. They may be more on-par with the classic film version of Frankenstein's Monster than an utterly mindless drone when it comes to sentience. [editline]11:24[/editline]
Rob Liefeld taking over "Deathstroke"
Wait wait wait, why? Rob already tried to make a second Deathstroke over at Marvel, and that one only took off after he was handed to people who knew what they were doing.
Where is spider-man
Where is spider-man
Stuck fighting shitty storylines.
The New 52 still irredeemably ruined it.
I like how "dynamically different costumes" means "Superman's S is a bit higher up and he finally learned what underwear meant, Batman's slightly pointier, and Wonder Woman now dresses 50% more conservatively (we added a miniskirt!)"
Where is spider-man
Spider Man is Marvel
Spider Man is Marvel
You don't say ?

Those fucking teeth will give me nightmares.
Those fucking teeth will give me nightmares.
Theres something off about them. Well, then again, theres a full post of batman and catwoman getting it on and you focus on his teeth. :v: [editline]12th February 2012[/editline]
I thought batman and superman both dies ages ago. I don't really follow comics, but I remember them being big news.
Superman in the 90's, he came back because he's a solar battery (dont fucking ask me why) Batman was sent backwards through time.
Comic books man. Nobody ever dies, they just have an incredibly contrived way of coming back to life.
Im not fucking you about the superman part. But as far as i know as soon as they had darksied shoot batman with his eyebeams they showed him in the past so he never "really" died.
