[release] Calvin and Hobbes is a comic strip created by Bill Waterson and began on November 18, 1985. The strip takes place in an unidentified suburban area in the United States and has two main characters. Calvin is a 6 year old genius with an active imagination and Hobbes is his wise and fair counterpart to balance him out. Hobbes is really a stuffed tiger whom Calvin sees as a physical living being, and everyone else views him as a stuffed tiger.
In the comic Bill explores many philosophical and modern ideals while not making any references to current events or people.
Sadly, the strip ended on December 31, 1995. Waterson thought that he could not put out the same quality of comics any more.[/release]

When I was younger, my mom gave me a home-made comic book (cut & paste) of calvin and hobbes with those two strips to start and end the book. Best damn book ever.
