As Doctor Who fans eagerly anticipate the premiere of season 7.5, and an all new companion adventuring with the Doctor, BBC has been releasing one exciting piece of information after another. Following confirmation of the season 7.5 premiere date, the network unveiled the first official poster for the upcoming run of episodes – including a tease at the enemies that will challenge the Doctor. After the poster fans were treated to new images from upcoming episodes and, finally, a full length Doctor Who season 7.5 trailer. While official channels have provided a lot of intriguing details about the upcoming series, expect showrunner Steven Moffat to keep a few twists close to the chest – especially ahead of Doctor Who‘s high-profile 50th anniversary celebration. But what surprises await the Doctor after 2013? Maybe an episode directed by fan-favorite filmmaker Peter Jackson? According to an interview conducted by EW (as part of a special Doctor Who issue), Jackson met Moffat over the holidays and made it clear that he was interested in directing an episode of Doctor Who – offering to do it for free (if Moffat throws in a gold-colored Dalek prop): “They don’t even have to pay me. But I have got my eye on one of those nice new gold-colored Daleks. They must have a spare one (hint, hint).” As the EW article suggests, Jackson has long been known to be a fan of Doctor Who, which shouldn’t come as a shock to entertainment lovers, given that his adoration for adventure stories helped him create one of the most beloved live-action fantasy series in Hollywood history – The Lord of the Rings (along with the prequel Hobbit trilogy).
http://screenrant.com/doctor-who-peter-jackson-episode-director/ As long as it doesn't involve anything with TNG and Doctor Who crossovering. I am fine with it. But fuck yeah he should do it
Yes. Do eet!
As much as I despise how much Doctor Who has gone down hill in the last 3-4 years or so (Mostly the writing, I like the actors), I'd watch this
I've always found Dr Who to be the worst of Sci Fi and I simply can't get into it. Hopefully a good director could change that.

Even the Doctor Who films with Peter Cushing (He is an amazing actor)
The quality fell of a cliff since Moffat took over
I never said what the quality slipped off of.
Well, doctor who was always abit too esoteric for my taste. But i have looked into some of the monsters and ideas of that show, and i really love the low-budget approach of it, where ideas are given all the attention. If he does make it i hope he does something out of character and cuts back on Cgi as much as possible.
The quality fell of a cliff since Moffat took over
Because RTD brought the best writing.
Imagine RTD & Peter Jackson wrote the DW 50th special or Movie....that shit would have to be some of the best sci-fi writing in history
Other places say RTD is shit, and some other places say Moffat is shit. Make up your damn minds. I like all the series. I watched New Who first, fell in love with it, and then went back and watched a bunch of old ones and liked them. Why can't some people just like them all :(
I found Doctor Who to be rather cheesy for my own tastes(daleks..), then again I watch Stargate and the goa'uld can come off as cheesy in some situations...
Dr. Who is too corny for me I prefer darker sci-fi or maybe it just gives me sappy T.V vibes, I don't really like the Dr.Who character either for some reason.
I like DR.Who but the fact that he pretty much can't die can/does make the show boring at times
I like DR.Who but the fact that he pretty much can't die can/does make the show boring at times
What? Of course the Doctor can die. He can run out of regenerations. [editline]23rd March 2013[/editline]
The quality fell of a cliff since Moffat took over
Yeah, the quality of the new episodes is nowhere near the masterpiece that was Love and Monsters.
Yeah, the quality of the new episodes is nowhere near the masterpiece that was Love and Monsters.
That was a one off, and it was literally thought up by a kid
That was a one off, and it was literally thought up by a kid
The monster was thought up by a kid, and the kid later said that the monster in the show was literally nothing like the one he thought of. Also, Rose. The pinnacle of excellent companion writing.

Awesome, love doctor who. although i still want to see a few more decent episodes with matt smith as the doctor, i really like the overly-excited-geography-teacher way he plays the part in- but he hasnt really had many good episodes to play him in, becuase moffat.
Nothing wrong with Rose Better than Amy
AHAHAHAHAHAAHA Oh boy I needed that thanks
Would be interesting to see what Peter could bring to the table, I'm interested. As for the current debate on show quality, I've very much enjoyed what we've got.
AHAHAHAHAHAAHA Oh boy I needed that thanks
Oh don't you dare Amy was horrible and bland, and left in a fittingly bland manner.
I liked this show back when Tennant was around. Smith is working good at his role considering how he came after a really good previous actor, it's just the writing and companions that lessens his skills. Like that Christmas episode a few months ago, what a joke.
