The latest patch for Assassin’s Creed: Unity on Xbox One downloads the entire 40GB game instead of just the patch due to a mistake made in deployment.
The issue affects the fourth major patch that is intended to address more of the many issues that Unity launched with. Before the error was spotted, the patch was already a 6.7GB download.
’We apologize that many of you will have to wait longer than expected to complete this download,’ said a Ubisoft spokesperson. ’We are working with Microsoft on a solution to reduce the total download to the intended size so that you can get back into the game faster.’
So, you can now download a glitched update that makes you download again a glitch filled game. Ubisoft went full Inception on the worst way possible.
what about the people with bandwidth caps? are they shit out of luck now?
Is ubisoft really a multicultural name for unreliable or something? Because they suck at this whole game development thing.
Good god, I didn't think they could fuck up worse.
How do I get a job at ubisoft? It doesn't seem that hard.
It's like they're trying to be awful on purpose.
The funniest thing is that the game seems to have even worse performance on the new 1.4.0 patch compared to 1.3.0 .

Next patch they release will wipe the whole HDD.
Is everyone working at Ubisoft high?
Oh boy, the ride never ends...
that's just how much of the game was broken
Ubisoft for worst company in the world 2014 - 2015
I actually seem to be getting slightly better framerates on the Xbox One version. Unfortunately the AI has been lobotomized and now forget they are engaged in fighting me during 100% of all fights and don't notice I'm in their restricted area until I literally sprint into them.
To be honest, I'm actually getting kinda sick of this "ubisoft fucked up x" news. Yes we know they're a terrible company, now please post anything again when they have improved themselves.
And Ubisoft is never heard from again.

It made EA get there shit together and improve themselves, so I'd be all for that.
It's amazing how ridiculously stupid some companies are. It's not even funny how dumb Ubisoft is anymore, it's just pathetic. How they even manage to keep themselves afloat is beyond me.
Won't be long until "pulling an Ubisoft" will be a regular term for major fuck ups.

Pretty sure it was established that the xbox one was the superior version. Or at least, the version with the least fuck ups on it.
It is legitimately surprising to see a company with so many resources at their disposal fuck things up REPEATEDLY.
CD Projekt Red had it right. Gamers would be HAPPY to hear about game delays if it means the end product is nice and polished.

One of the biggest developers in the world that employs studios from around the world to work on a single product and they make monumental fuckups consistently.

A developer on Assassins Creed 3 actually said this was the exact problem with Ubisoft lately. Coordinating across multiple studios with the amount of people they have makes implementing changes during development a bureaucratic nightmare.
It really shows in their last few releases. The only thing even remotely decent at release was Far Cry 4, a game where half the work was already done.
EA made some bad decisions when they were the worst company ever (something that they've definitely changed, good on them) but the only games I remember EA making that were shitfests were Simcity and early BF4, both of which I believe are slightly better now?
then Ubisoft just seem to make one mistake after another, all of them completely baffling.
Can I get a job at ubisoft? All it seems you do is smash you head into a keyboard all day.

Part of what happens when you have a release schedule as crowded as Ubisoft's and are unwilling to make compromises. Didn't they release like 4 or 5 games all within 3 or 4 weeks recently? Assassin's Creed, Rayman, Far Cry. I know I count at least 3. Well, 4 if you count AC: Rogue.
I've had 2-3 games do this in the past on Steam.
Two I downloaded on unlimited internet just before moving to an area with a 17Gb/month cap.
3 years later, I finally got unlimited internet again and was able to finish the downloads.

well the main thing with EA is that even before simcity and BF4 they've done some pretty bad business practices, bad customer relations, The Mass Effect 3 stuff (actually im not sure if EA or just Bioware in specific were to blame there), and a bunch of other stuff in the past too.
But yeah, Ubisoft is just in this hilarious downward spiral.
I personally experienced this glitch. I knew that the patch was supposed to be 6.7GB and I quick glanced at it and saw 4gb so I started downloading it but then realized it was actually 40gb.
What a mess this game is, I'm glad I didn't actually buy it and it came with my xbone bundle.
Man Ubisoft just can't catch a break lol

It already is, really.
Ubifail went totally bullcrap... :D
Fair re-iteration: Ubisoft never used to be "bad" as a video game company.
Phew... Message to those who didn't know. But... My say? What the fuck have you done Ubisoft???
