• My First UrBex Experience

Ever since the first few UrbEx threads I've seen on Facepunch, I've always really wanted to try it out myself. So MastaNinja101 and I went location scouting for a short film we're working on, and we ended up finding a great spot - an abandoned apartment complex in the outskirts of the town next over. It was my first time doing this sort of thing, and I'll admit, I was pretty creeped out at some points, especially because the town's got a shitty reputation when it comes to its drug users. Had to climb in the window to get in. It's about 5ft off the ground. This place is fuuuucked up. It's not even that old. Going down into the basement. It was pitch black down there. Shit everywhere: Creepy nursery: Still in the basement - there must have been some crazy water damage here. Looks like someone's been here. There's also a shitload of porno magazines everywhere. Disgusting fridge filled with disgusting things: Scary hallway: Overview of the whole place: Will add more pictures of you guys would like. Anyway, this really got me into UrbEx, and I hope I can go out and find some much bigger places to explore. Cheers! :siren: Due to popular demand (not really), I have added additional images! :siren: Overview of the room we started in: Walking along in the basement (perfect horror setting): These are the stairs I was looking down earlier. Another creepy-ass hallway. Would make a good screamer gif. Bathroom 1: I'm pretty sure some of the things in here are salvageable. Red refrigerator FTW - It's odd. You kind of forget that the windows are all boarded up. It gives you the impression that you're there late at night, which ups the scariness a little bit. Looks like the Bad Company squad beat us here. when you see it, you'll shit brix. Blaze... More Blaze... Another washroom Escape! Me. :D
You should have a party there or something.
Never seen anything about UrBex, but that place looks kickass
The basement gave me chills. I'm going to try and get a few of my friends to do stuff like this with me... After the Black Star Canyon night hike idea failed, I think this would be a good thing to do (less risk of getting shot at by Black Star Bill - he has a shotgun and has shot at night hikers before)
woah
Paint chips, EVERYWHERE.
Oh wow someone was making crack in that kitchen for sure
You guys seriously should've been wearing gas/surgical masks and rubber gloves down there, that place doesn't look healthy at all.
It looks to new to have asbestos if that's what you are talking about. Masks would be a plus still. Turn it into a party house or play airsoft in it at night with a lot of friends.
what the fuck is in your ear
I have a few abandon houses near me, but I never bother to go to em.
These places amazes me, do post more pictures please
I should post the abandoned wing of the hospital of where my mother works, place is fucking sealed shut and only employees can go through. Sick pictures dude, welcome to the world of Urban Exploration!
The 'Scary Hallway' looks excellent for horror films and whatnot.
I've always wanted to try this but there's no places here in the middle of suburban wasteland :saddowns:
Haha, I want to do this sometime. Emergency gasmask, check. Knives, check. Assorted hiking gear, check!
it isn't me in the shots, it's my friend James. And I thought of masks (I was wearing work gloves), but figured I wouldn't have been there long enough anyway. Will consider wearing one during the actual shoot though. I'm really stoked to get into some bigger places. This definitely gave me an adrenaline rush.
Good point, asbestos can't be ruled out. Don't want to be coming down with malignant mesothelioma, do we?
This is amazing. I never heard about "UrBex" before. What is it? Looking into creepy abandoned buildings? What the fuck does UrBex mean?
This is amazing. I never heard about "UrBex" before. What is it? Looking into creepy abandoned buildings? What the fuck does UrBex mean?
Stands for Urban Exploration.
Stands for Urban Exploration.
Oh ok. I thought Urban Exploration was like in citys doing parkour and shit.
Congratulations on your possible lead/asbestos poisoning.
The outside looks like a building from S.T.A.L.K.E.R
Do you have pics of the porno mags?
What does "bex" stand for
UrB(an) ex(ploration)
I feel like getting a bulldozer and driving it into that building for the hell of it.
UrB(an) ex(ploration)
wouldn't it be UrbEx then?
This is why latex house paint sucks.
Wow, that really must be a goldmine for filming an independent film. It's a pretty cool place. Good luck with you and your short film you're making, and always remember, when you are done with the place, smash everything up with a baseball bat
