Windows 8 spotted running on the HTC Shift portable computer/phone

The 2007 HTC Shift could have been a good product, nonetheless its original implementation sucked. A Portable phone/computer device that ran Windows Vista and allowed a customized version of Windows Mobile to run on the back. With its low specs: Intel A110 Stealy CPU 800 MHz and 1GB of RAM, the product was riddled with troubles and resource hungry Vista made it useless. But now D J Willis has managed to run Windows 8 on this model, and for its really low specs, it runs surprisingly well! a video in french has been posted, and I'm impressed:

The animations are smooth and the device appears to be fully functional. The is a really good example of the type of devices we should be looking forward with Windows 8 in the future.

surprisingly well*
It does appear to function nicely on the phone, and the interface is also fantastic in my opinion.

It's the perfect hardware for an interface like that though so I'm sure MS will make something work.
Metro belongs on tablets and phones, and maybe netbooks, but not desktop PCs.

I think it could work on PCs given enough applications. The people who do heavy multitasking won't like it though. But it seems that this day and age a lot people use their computers just for web browsing and writing up a document, or a quick game. All of which work fine in Metro.

That's Steam, on a mobile device.
And it being Windows 8 you can download Crysis on that thing.
Do it, video creator. Max it out. I dare you!

One day we'll be able to do it though.
Some day...
probably doesn't have the hardware to run it. iirc crysis bitches about insufficient requirements if you're not up to spec
