"Give me a call," the actor told Metro with a grin. "I like Lex Luthor. I think he's misunderstood. He's a loveable, sweet man."
As much as I like Cranston, he's not really well-suited for an action role imo, which is what Luthor will likely evolve into in the upcoming Superman films.

IN A ROBOT SUIT. I think he can handle robot suits.
Also I don't think Luthor should be that old when he and Superman first meet.
Him or Kevin Spacy. Those are the only people i want as Lex. Honestly though i think Bryan would work better if he got in the robot suit part.
While it'd be extremely entertaining to see him in a very tense scene with him, the whole role might be a bit disappointing. What I learned from Breaking Bad is that Cranston is fantastic with tense scenes.

In the comics Luthor is also a trained hand-to-hand combatant who singlehandedly took on Batman and Nightwing. I just can't see Cranston doing this to Deathstroke for example.

We also didn't see him becoming a hardened meth cook after Malcolm in the Middle.
He's a good actor, I'd trust him with the role.
but Cranston should be Jim Gordon
I thought the title said Lex Steele. :v:
Lex Luthor has always been cooler to me when he's black, but this would be totally okay too.

I don't think I ever want Gary Oldman to give up being Commisioner Gordon even though I can see Cranston filling that role really well.

Not related to the Nolan trilogy.

Also he was Gordon in the animated Year One.
I love Gary Oldman as Gordon, the man has extreme range

I'd like to see him play a villain in a superhero movie
I hope Lex wont evolve to 'let me get my power suit and go punch Superman'. Please Snyder and Goyer, do Maggin's or an Azarrello's Luthor.
Fuck Superman. I want to see either Bryan Cranston or Patrick Stewart, maybe too old at this point,to play Spider Jerusalem in a Transmetropolitan movie that will never be made. :suicide:
I still think it's weird that the guy I knew from Malcom in The Middle is suddenly appearing in all these tense action/drama flicks. It honestly doesn't sound like a bad role, but if he's actually cast, the Superman movie curse may very well break his reputation.
I just hope they don't fuck with the world like Nolan did with batman.

You mean like how Hal from Malcom in the Middle wasn't suited to be a drug kingpin?
If they do Lex Luthor, make him like the John Byrne version. That version of Lex was a sophisticated, classy businessman would never got got doing dirty deals cause he's just that slick.

It won't. Breaking Bad has tremendously boosted his acting profile. He's going to be a sought-after actor for years to come.

i love nolan's version of the batman universe. it feels more real but still has that batman mystery feel to it.

I liked those movies tremendously but it didn't feel like the "Great Detective" Batman. Especially in The Dark Knight. There was no overarching scheme or brilliant gambit. In fact most of the time, Batman's foes out-planned him utterly.

Hard to fathom how stupid comment this is. Nolan fucked Batman?
Let's recap what the last major Batman movie was. Batman & Robin, the infamous 3,6 IMDB rated film.
Batman was already in the shitter before Nolan came along and he saved the franchise.

depends on which origin story you wish to use, some Lex is the same age.......some Lex is older.......some Lex is much older, personally i don't mind this as long as they do the character justice in terms of his intellect and actual motives.

The prometheus should be in the story.....but not from the beginning it should be Lex's final last resort as Lex would much rather use his intelligence to outsmart over fighting, which is why Lex and Brainiac make a good pairing.
Lex personally shouldn't get fully involved in a fight with Superman directly till a JL movie or much later down the series, after being humiliated by Superman ( not intentionally ) and Lex goes mad/insane with revenge in mind, he should be a behind the scences motivator where the audience are made aware of Lex's involvement but it's left unknown to the world except Superman who has to "prove it" ( props if you get the reference ).

At least Batman & Robin vaguely resembles batman, The Nolan movies are good action movies, But terrible batman movies.
Cranston could play Wonder Woman and I'd still watch it.

In the Nolan trilogy, Batman wasn't even portrayed as a genius. A trained fighter yes, but not a whole lot of detective skills or mechanical engineering. All his gear is just military surplus he borrowed from Wayne R&D.
