Police say it’s lucky no one was hurt at the Champions Supa IGA on Gisborne Rd, Darley, in as the teen speeds by on what is believed to be a white and green 80cc Kawasaki trail bike, or similar. Local Sen-Constable Richard Taylor said it was still trying to confirm the youth’s identity, but a local 14-year-old is believed to be the focus of inquiries. Sen-Constable Taylor a group of youths involved in the incident may have thought they were just playing a prank, but said shoppers could easily have been hurt. “It only takes one person to be in front of him and you’re talking about serious injuries”. The video footage shows apparent accomplices attempting to hold the automatic doors open for the teen biker for what appears to be the dare, but the footage shows the doors closing just as he is about to make a getaway, trapping him in the store. The youth slams on his brakes, skidding nearly 10m, but he still hits the automatic doors on the north side of the building and smashes the glass. Seconds later, shoppers and a checkout operator race over to keep him from escaping, but the youth enlists the help of a woman claiming to be his aunty who abuses staff until they let him go. IGA regional manager Jim Jowett said one shopper was about to step into the path of the biker, before she luckily stepped back. “He’s a bloody idiot, that’s all I can say,” Mr Jowett said. Staff released him and he then fled the store. Police are still keen to speak to patrons inside the store at the time of the incident.[/quote]Videos in the link. I thought it was pretty funny. Teenagers do stupid things, but they learn from mistakes. I don't think there's any reason to arrest the kid.

Even if they banned kids from going in the stores, still doesn't stop him from doing this :v:

Pfft hardly a crash, he barely bumped them. I was expecting something where he was trying to get out of the store and they closed right before he got to them, so he crashed into them going 15mph

Incompetent staff, if this would happen at my supermarket I would tackle him while he is going high speed trough the store. Or atleast not let him go after he crashed into the door.
