Vegans are more problematic for our environment than non-vegans, as vegans eat plants. As you know, plants take on Carbon Dioxide from our atmosphere and put out Oxygen. If everyone were vegan, there would be much less plant life on Earth, causing a (slightly) higher amount of Carbon Dioxide to accumulate in the atmosphere, and a (slightly) lower amount of Oxygen to be present on Earth.
With non-vegans eating meat, the amount of Carbon Dioxide put out by animals is reduced, the amount of Methane put out by animals is reduced, and so on. The plants, while still consumed by non-vegans, would be consumed much less and would be left to take in Carbon Dioxide and put out Oxygen.
