On the heels of recent news about a two-headed bull shark, a two-headed pig has been born in a village in east China's Jianxi province, according to the news reports. The photo shows a pig with two snouts, two ears and what appears to be a shared eye. A local veterinarian told the AFP news agency the animal is suffering a deformity and is unlikely to survive.
Looks great
what god thats horrifying
It's a sign that the end is near obviously. Or nature just fucked up, which is tends to do time from time.
id eat it
It's cute in a morbid way.
Certainly a creepy mutation; the configuration of the snouts would make it hard to eat things, since normally the snout is right in front of the pig's face, whereas this mutant piglet would have to turn it's head to orient one of it's snouts. Also that big head looks like it'd be harder to lift, so if it actually survives (unlikely but still) it would probably have some strong neck muscles. Or it would be prone to falling on it's face a lot.
...two-headed bull shark, a two-headed pig has been born...
:tinfoil: At this rate, we're going to hear about two-headed humans :tinfoil:
Might need to up the rad-X dosage.
:tinfoil: At this rate, we're going to hear about two-headed humans :tinfoil:
they exist though [editline]lol[/editline] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycephaly#List_of_recent_occurrences

Jesus Christ how horrifying

"A local veterinarian told the AFP news agency the animal is suffering a deformity and is unlikely to survive." I wonder what that could be...

Doom 4 confirmed
are they going to dump it in the river?
:tinfoil: At this rate, we're going to hear about two-headed humans :tinfoil:
More likely than you think sirrah; Abigail and Brittany Hensel are a prime example of human polycephaly. Though apparently they have extra sets of organs too. Evilcop got there first it seems.
What's everybody complaining about? It's extra bacon, there's never anything creepy about extra bacon. On the positive side, it's symmetrical.
This kind of thing can really happen and it has happened already a few times as most people pointed out. I dont really see how this could be sensational.
This is a relatively common mutation in pretty much every animal for its severity. Theres a fair number of these on the web already.
Its a sign! A terrible omen! Our crops will wither, our calves will be stillborn! We must find the witch and destroy her, lest nature destroy us with its warning!
What's everybody complaining about? It's extra bacon, there's never anything creepy about extra bacon. But I still wonder, what is that cause of polycephaly? Is it due to the parts of the code being switched on or off, or does polycephaly occur when the code is corrupted? And either way, which parts of the genetic code govern these factors? Also, concerning Abby and Brittany, I do believe there was a .gif wherein they were dancing, and the words "4X Multicast!" flashed on the screen. Probably a bit disrespectful, but still somewhat relevant.
god the way the eye is, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. So weird

Hox genes are specific genes which control which part of the body becomes what, and any mutation in those genes can easily cause drastic changes, like extra limbs, or eyeballs on your ankles.
Hox genes? Those things sound really sci-fi. Also, if alterations to the code in hox genes can alter the physiology of the individual, then we could do a lot worse than investing research into how the hox genes work; I'm all for finding the strings that govern the quantity and configuration of arms. An arm in the middle of our chests, likely emerging from the sternum, would be insanely useful for the human species, allowing us to devise mechanisms that can be manipulated well with three hands, plus allowing us to hold more things at once. If anything, people would be able to properly utilise the full potential of a controller similar in design to the N64 gamepad. I would honestly love to have an extra arm, since it'd allow me to have my left and middle hands on the keyboard whilst my right hand operates the mouse; three-armed gamers would be able to unlock the full potential of the PC control format.

More common that you'd think.
