A bit of history for those interested:
In 1912, Alfred Ritter and newly wedded wife, Clara, founded a chocolate factory in Stuttgart-Cannstatt. Later it introduced its own brand of chocolate named "Alrika (Alfred Ritter Cannstatt)." When production needs required a factory expansion, the company moved to Waldenbuch in 1930, a couple of miles outside Stuttgart. The chocolate brand Ritter's Sport Schokolade produced as the square tablet known today was launched in 1932 after Clara suggested creating a chocolate bar that would fit into every jacket pocket without breaking.
The company's current generation of owners, Alfred T. Ritter and his sister Marli Hoppe-Ritter, are engaged in ecological and fair trade projects. In 1990 they launched project "Cacaonica", which supports organic cocoa agriculture and reforestation in Nicaragua. The Ritter company owns a CHP power plant and buys additional electricity from renewable resources. The monomaterial chocolate packaging is designed to minimize its ecological footprint.
On the whole, their products are neither certified organic nor certified fair trade. However, in April 2008 they launched an organic product line called "Ritter Sport Bio".
The Ritter museum is a »Hommage to the square« - to describe the Sammlung Marli Hoppe-Ritter. The collection consists of nearly 600 paintings, objects, sculptures and graphic works, a breadth of painterly and sculptural confrontation with the square form used as the design for the Ritter chocolate.
Ritter's factory is located in Waldenbuch, outside of Stuttgart. They have a shop and museum there as well that is open to visitors.

Ritter Sport offer a great variant of different chocolates - one for each and every taste!
In addition they come in three different sizes: 100g, 250g and mini-size. This offers great opportunities to bring a little snack along (mini), share with a couple of friends (250g) or just have a bar to eat over a couple of hours - or in an instant because you cannot resist (100g)
Most of the varieties at normal size (100g) will be found as king-size (250g) as well.
As far as I recall, every variant is found as mini-size.
RITTER SPORT 100g squares have existed in ever-growing numbers of new delicious varieties since 1932. You can even see the great quality of the chocolates from without.
Thanks to their square shape, our chocolates aren't only more practical, but also thicker than other chocolate bars. This means that we can fit even more great ingredients, such as hazelnuts, sultanas, yoghurt, or almonds, into each RITTER SPORT square. Our eleven different chocolate masses also ensure great, unmistakable taste.
Their recipes are carefully tailored to each different filling.
Did you hear that? They are even practical! How awesome is that for a chocolate bar?
Ritter Sport is also known for their ability to easily split in half. You just grab the fucker and force it bending; the bar will bisect and the packaging will split too! That's really awesome when you're to share with a buddy.

From time to time, various special and limited edition flavours are released, sometimes with seasonal themes. For example, Marc de Champagne contained a truffle-like center with a champagne flavour.
Since December 2008 some of their chocolate bars ingredients have changed, substituting some of the cocoa butter with cheaper butter fat, which changes the taste and texture of some of their products.
I'm quite sure there's one for you too! It doesn't matter if you're really picky; there's varieties enough for a change every day.

My favourite, I think (they're all equally awesome), is the biscuit one:

It's so great words cannot describe it. It's like eating pure, square-formed awesomeness.
The downside, though, is that you want to eat it cold. If it's slightly tempered (room temperature), the biscuit sort of ruins the squared awesomeness since it's like eating a dull piece of bread with lousy chocolate.
My favourite when biscuit isn't my favourite is whole hazelnuts (dark or milk chocolate I don't mind)

I hate Chocolate x Biscuit foods, so I usually don't pick them up.
