HEALTH is an experimental/noise rock band from LA. If you've ever heard the song 'Crimewave' by Crystal Castles, well you should know that it is actually a remix of a HEALTH song of the same name. HEALTH's sound is very disorganised and frantic, using heavy effects to achieve a new sound. In 2008, Boston newspaper The Phoenix named them the Best New Band from California, and they have also opened for Nine Inch Nails before. I have seen them once before, as they opened for Crystal Castles in Hamilton Ontario at some small venue called the Casbah, the crowd was small - only containing about 20-30 people. When we got there, we discovered that crystal castles wouldnt be playing, as Alice Glass (the singer) got into a car crash and broke some ribs, so we only say the opener (HEALTH), i was blown away. Live songs: Glitter Pills 'Triceratops' and 'Courtship" '//M\\' and 'Crimewave' Check their myspace out for the legit recordings that have better quality, they also have a new song up, called Die Slow: http://www.myspace.com/healthmusic
I expect to see a lot of "OMG THIS STUFF SUX THIS IsdN'T EVEN MUSIC112e2" posts. I like their sound, although I have to admit they look like they're having seizures when they're playing.
You already made this thread. They're ok but nothing special or memorable.
You already made this thread. They're ok but nothing special or memorable.
some time last year.
People look like they are in a trance when dancing.
It's because they're stoned as fucked.
It's because they're stoned as fucked.
qft.
Pretty cool I guess no reason to knock them, their just doing what they like. I want the drummer's shirt though.
Pretty cool I guess no reason to knock them, their just doing what they like. I want the drummer's shirt though.
reading your username just brought back my entire childhood.
HEALTH is so cool
I've never actually heard the Crystal Castles version of Crimewave. Pretty awesome. I love HEALTH though. They played a club in Dallas and I barely missed it, but I saw their sticker on the wall when I went to see Mouth of the Architect. HEALTH kicks assssss. Tight zip-up hoodies == awesome noise-rock. Almost always.
Word.
OMG THIS STUFF SUX THIS IsdN'T EVEN MUSIC
This band's really unique. It's enjoyable in a way.
I bought the "You Will Love Each Other" V-neck.
Boring and pretentious, as a point of reference Crystal Castles is pretty good imo.
Boring and pretentious, as a point of reference Crystal Castles is pretty good imo.
I don't see how it's boring or pretentious, to be completely honest.
I don't see how it's boring or pretentious, to be completely honest.
To be completely honest I think we have differing opinions :O
To be completely honest I think we have differing opinions :O
Oh, I know we do. It just bothers me when people use the word pretentious. You don't know these guys. I mean, really, I don't see them flaunting about talking about how "unique" and "insightful" their music is. No more pretentious than The Mars Volta. (I love TMV for the record, but they're very pretentious with their music.)

The were the opener for NIN in my town earlier this year. They sucked.
V neck [/argument] Just kiddin, but honestly until I see evidence otherwise I'm going to consider them pretentious.
Hurf durf v-necks. I don't understand the whole deal about people hating them. It's just a different kind of shirt. And, I don't know... They aren't flaunting it, that's why I don't find them pretentious. They seem pretty honest to me.
The were the opener for NIN in my town earlier this year. They sucked.
There are two types of NIN fans really. Open-minded people that worship TR and love everything he does, and people that hate everything that isn't alternative/prog-rock. If you don't like noise-rock at all this argument isn't worth having.
If you like Health, you also might like "They Were Wrong So We Drowned" from Liars.
I heard of Health through Crystal Castles, I remember I listened to one or two of their songs a while ago, not enough to really judge if I liked them or not though. Listening to them again, it's really nice!
I heard of HEALTH because they opened for crystal castles back in feb 2008, at that time there was only 30 people at the venue to see crystal castles :S
Boring and pretentious, as a point of reference Crystal Castles is pretty good imo.
Anything that someone doesn't like always seems pretentious.
"Get Color" owns, I got my download code recently, cause I pre-ordered the t-shirt. I'd probably rank it higher than the first album.
I really dislike these guys.
The guy on the right has fucking huge thighs, like seriously what the fuck is that shit
