So, you've just completed Mass Effect 3 and you're not too happy about the endings, what do you do? Well, you could complain on the Bioware forums, sign the petition for new endings, or read the rest of this post and get excited. You see, the recent outcry for entirely new endings, or at least some sort of closure and clarification, by many members of the Mass Effect community sparked a debacle that has some taking sides. On one hand you have those that appreciated the endings for what they were, and were gracious that Bioware was able to craft three games that took Western RPG's to a new level. Then you have the people who didn't like the endings. Because of obvious spoilers, I won't go into detail about what those endings contained, but just know that if you didn't like them, you're certainly not alone. Bioware knows that people didn't like the endings, and it seems that we now know why those endings were chosen, and what is being done to correct that "mistake".
The image above was leaked across the web a few days ago, it shows new multiplayer classes that are coming to Mass Effect 3, there's apparently more to the story though. The image below shows what appears to be the rest of the screen cap (which looks to be taken from Facebook), that reveals that this DLC is available on the Developer servers, and it unlocks everything? Ok, that's sort of odd I suppose, but the most intriguing part of the post comes from an anonymous user from some website (maybe 4chan?). The user sheds some light on the DLC, dubbed "The Truth".

The ending was half-assed because of the leak. They changed it at the last minute so they could have more time to prepare the real ending via DLC.
It’s called The Truth and it’s being released in April or May. You WILL be able to continue the story if you picked any of the endings. Your decision during that sequence will have a big effect on your ending of The Truth. The Truth adds two new sets of enemies, new classes, and multiplayer maps including “Firebase Hive”, which is a small area of the last remaining collector ship included in the DLC, which, by the way you should definitely bring Javik the Prothean along if you have him.
The picture here shows some of the leaked multiplayer classes and races. One race that isn’t shown is the Prothean Adept and Vanguard. This DLC also enables the ability for owners of the preorder and From Ashes DLC to find their DLC weapons in reinforcement packs.
All that content, and this might as well be labeled an expansion pack.
And it’s free.
You’re welcome.
When asked about the DLC, Bioware said "Do you really think we would really name something "The Truth?" While they didn't outright deny the existence of the DLC, it might not be named "The Truth".
If what the anonymous user stated is to be believed, then this would certainly explain why Bioware delivered those "half-assed" endings in the first place. If released, "The Truth" could ease the players that felt "betrayed" by the endings. Personally, I thought they were ok, there were some plot holes, but it did leave slight room for future sequels, so I don't mind. If we do get additional endings, then that's even better, and if they're free, you can definitely sign me up! Remember guys, this is still a rumor, so please, take this with a grain of salt until more information is uncovered.

fixing the colored explosions for only 14.99!
now with more colored animations!!111
if it is true, Bioware are geniuses at marketing by making fans pay for the true ending.
Oh fuck, we fucked up.
Well, we can still milk their anger for more money.
DLC EFFECT 3
I want a pink ending
Aside from the endings playing as the geth will be MY DREAM.
hilarious if people actually BUY the proper ending for a game
hilarious if people actually BUY the proper ending for a game
I assume you just skipped the OP.
I thought it was supposedly free...?

Bioware is more respectable than that, they wouldn't dare
I hope...
This is stupid, it's supposedly free, but it's still stupid that (if this is accurate) Bioware mauled the endings purposely as "payback" for the leaked script which rained on their parade when everyone said it was bad.
Never buying a Bioware game ever again if this actually turns out to be even somewhat true, Javik being on the disc was a big enough insult.
how would this be somewhat true?

The world is strange enough sometimes to give you that answer

You get no cake.....it's the truth.
It'd better be fuckin' free; they have a debt to us. Fuck the notion that their commitment to you ends once they have your money; they have to uphold their honour by apologising for their misdeeds with a free DLC pack, regardless of how many guns EA are being pointed at their heads.
If it's free, i'l probably be able to try and forgive them, but i'll still never forget how they removed Javik from the main game for monetisation.
Also, if my copy isn't here by the afternoon, i'll likely be having words with Amazon, because this is getting ridiculous.
I love how they put the proper classes like Geth infiltrator and Krogan Battlemaster in the DLC rather than able to get normally.
I still doubt them actually making it though. I saw that screenshot on /v/ a few days ago, looked pretty fake then and it still looks fake. That kind of self-awareness is long lost in Bioware.
Bioware is just another cog in the EA's money laundering machine. I doubt the devs really care or listen to fans anymore.
I doubt this "The Truth" dlc is completely real, it could be that someone got ahold of a upcoming Multi-failure DLC and they sure as hell are not giving anything away for free. Only gaming company that care do such things like that.
All this said however, there is enough flame-wars and rage going on that they might just make a changed ending DLC because they see that the foolish drones will pay for it. Not because they know the F'd up but because money > Fan Respect

i don't believe in EA giving free dlc

battlefield 3
battlefield 3
all right let me fix my post
i don't believe in EA giving free dlc that matters
Welp, now I have to replay the entire ending and change my squad selection so Tali and Garrus die and instead Fathead McStrongdick and Cerberaus Cheerleader die instead.
Bad company 2 had free dlc. Then again, the pc version didn't get some gamemodes.

Whether it matters or not is subjective.
Back to Karkand doesn't count, but I think you're referring to the preorder pack.
Why doesn't BTK count?
Now featuring:
3 new custom colors for the end game explosion!
People getting hyped off of rumors and images. Surprise.
I wouldn't doubt that the multiplayer classes are real... but changing the endings has to be fake.
Not buying into this until I hear it straight from the horse's mouth.
Will probably buy it just to play as the geth. Assuming it's real and this isn't clever photo editing and wishful thinking
