DECATUR, Ga. — Gay rights activists held “Kiss-A-Thon” demonstrations at Chick-fil-A restaurants across metro Atlanta in light of the company president’s recent controversial comments.
For weeks, the restaurant chain has faced backlash after its president, Dan Cathy, publicly announced his opposition to gay marriage. But supporters came out in full force packing restaurants on what was dubbed Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day on Wednesday.
Two days later, Kiss-A-Thon participants were encouraged to go to the fast food chain and kiss fellow demonstrators of the same sex. Channel 2’s Diana Davis went to a Chick-fil-A in downtown Decatur, where about two dozen protesters were gathered by noon.
Protesters carried placards with messages urging customers to eat elsewhere. Some participants said the fight is also about Cathy’s financial contributions toward groups perceived as being anti-gay.
“Look, he can believe whatever he wants but then, when he puts money or pen to the paper for places that diligently try to stop equal rights in marriage or pray the gay away or organizations like that, he’s not going to get my money no more,” Marcia Alt told Davis.

Good on them; if disgusting fat fucks feel the need to eat in protest then these people deserve to show their love in protest.
Mmm I want me some o dat

It's not about them being deserving of it, but the fact that they are trying to show that those people's Chick-Fil-a support is rather silly and does nothing to fight against homosexual communities.
Fine, where's the problem? Just homosexual people who want to be accepted just as they are: Human individuals with a sexuality that isn't harmful or "unnormal" or something like that. I surely can't stand all this chick-fil-a shit about "HURR DURR THE BIBLE SAYS" - The bible was written by man and it wouldn't surprise me if "god" is also just a manmade creation. (I don't know if there's a god and I surely don't want to be ignorant to the possibility, but seriously: Why should a omnipotent being give any fucks about the sexuality of a mortal aiming towards his/her own gender?)
In other news, local herpes infections have tripled over the last few days.
Can't we just let this stupid drama pass already? I swear, it's like every person in the country just graduated High School.

You clearly don't have a grasp on what it's like to have your entire lifestyle attacked and defiled. Where is your passion?

Herpes is a virus that's only transmitted between gays? Thanks Doc.
Good for them.
kissy kissy :3
Really pathetic that they'd do this in protest of the views of a chicken restaurant or whatever it is. Kissing in front of it does nothing but degrade the way people view them, nobody wants to watch them kiss while they eat.
And who even CARES what a chicken restaurant thinks? They're always protesting or parading and it does nothing but annoy people. If they weren't so outspoken about what they do nobody would care, but they continually force it upon people like it should be everyone's business. I don't even see why they're protesting like this when the president openly supports gays rights, there's literally nothing to protest about now. So ridiculous.
Kinda seems like a waste of time.
I mean, it's not like every employee or owner of a CFA believes the same thing their president does.

It's not about what they think, it's about what they do. They fund a rediculous amount of organisations which fight against LGBT rights. As it said, they practically endorse barbaric things such as "pray the gay away" centres. That's why people are getting so worked up. They may be having a serious negative effect on the progression of LGBT rights.

It's not so much caring about what the restaurant thinks, as opposed to caring that the restaurant funds various hate groups including those that encourage the murders of gay people in Uganda
And fuck those who are annoyed
If they don't like people exercising their right to free speech and protest they can fuck off quite frankly

But anyone that goes to one of their restaurants is supporting someone that opposes gay rights.

These people believe that LGBT people should have no rights (I'm sure their real hate is deeper then that) and actively support anti LGBT organizations. We live in a time where we have found the ability to destroy our own planet before we got rid of this barbaric train of thought. My friend who came out as lesbian to her Mormon parents was disowned and kicked out just because of who she chooses to love. Their parents tithe over 14 grand to the church every year. We see where these peoples priority's lie.

Right next to your intellectual integrity.
You are telling me that you think that this Chick Fil A thing is anything other than a over-sensationalized piece of shit? It's a franchise. That means that individual owners decide what their views are, and lumping all chick-fil-a's into the same category, just because some dickwad up at the top said something he shouldn't have to a news corporation. Also, chick-fil-a has been pushing money towards anti-gay funds for years now. The issue shouldn't be what the guy said, or even what chick-fil-a's supposed company-wide morals are. The issue is that they fund groups that have done hateful things in the past. However, no one has said a thing about that in the media. All they did was take people and point them towards a new target in order to sell more stories.
Better than seeing old retards singing god bless america

I believe one franchise owner voiced his support for the gay community already.

Good God you're naive. Just because O-Rock said gay's wearing plain gold rings is cool doesn't mean all intolerance ever vanished.
I mean, I could go deeper into insulting you because you're dumb but I really don't feel like it so I'm just going to call you a homophobe, (Fuckin' A, I sound like Sanius, God help me) and go have dinner with my fiancee.
I believe one franchise owner voiced his support for the gay community already.
There is at least one, probably more. The point is, they can all think and make their own decisions, so lumping "chick-fil-a" into one giant thing is stupid.
If I was eating there and I saw that I think I would lose my appetite, no offense.

I lost my appetite for there after discovering its funding of hate groups but whatever
This is being blown WAY TO FUCKING OUT OF PROPORTION. Its a fucking fast food chain, who gives a shit what their political stance is. Is the taste suddenly different because some PR guy says something about gay people? No! Any person with some sort of brain capacity, doesn't fucking care about it.

It's not about the food dingus
It's called having principles, some people don't want their money going towards the "re-education" of gay people

Who the fuck cares, its a fast food chain. They have no political power at all and people are bitching over nothing.
[editline]3rd August 2012[/editline]
There was a fuckton less bitching about Mitt Romney or some other republican being anti-gay.
Who the fuck cares
I already said, people with principles
[editline]4th August 2012[/editline]
Why are you so adamant at stifling discussion if you don't care
