Cuba has said a North Korean cargo ship seized in Panama was loaded at one of its ports with 10,000 tons of sugar and 240 tons of "obsolete defensive weaponry".
The Cuban foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that the Soviet-era weapons were being sent to North Korea for repair and included two anti-aircraft batteries, nine disassembled rockets, and two MiG-21 aircraft.
"The agreements Cuba has signed in these areas are based on our need to maintain our defensive capacity to protect national sovereignty," the statement said.
The Chong Chon Gang was detained on Tuesday after Panamanian authorities detected what appeared to be ballistic missiles and other arms, Ricardo Martinelli, the country's president, has said.
The crew rioted and the captain reportedly had a heart attack and then tried to commit suicide when the ship was boarded as it approached the Atalantic entrance to the Panama Canal.
Javier Caraballo, Panama's top anti-drugs prosecutor, said the cargo ship was en route to North Korea.

I was reading those jokes in the other thread about how it was another "Cuban Missile Crisis" and laughing hardy-harr-harr.
But nope. Apparently it was a real thing.
Guess we jinxed it.
Well that's not good; Cuba's probably in for a rough ride. Either that or it has some 'splaining to do.
oh boy

that's pretty metal
And the US sends weapons to the rebels in Syria, that might be using it to target safe zones guarded by the SAA.
North Korea is just an attention child. Syria is a full on warzone with no better side.
What is worse?

North Korea. The war in Syria will end. When? No one knows.
North Korea, though as rickety as it stands, will continue to press on, for a long time.

Concentration camps with thousands of starved slave laborers being experimented on with chemical weapons for generations while dictators/generals live like kings sounds worse than a civil war that will probably end in a few years.
To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if NK repaired them and never gave them back :v:
See, that wouldn't have happened if there was more surveillance!
THE SOLUTION IS MORE SANCTIONS.
Sanction the sanctions by sending weapons to North Korea. That'll show them.
Communists helping Communists. Nothing new or suprising here.
I'm surprised that they admitted to it.
I'm sorry, but... the name of the vessel was Chong Chon Gang? :v:
I feel bad for smirking at that.
the only option is to nuke cuba at this point
Really isn't that big of a deal. Wow they get some old as hell AA battery to complement their other old as hell falling apart stuff.
