Trump to Senate Republicans: kill Obamacare now, replace later
40 replies, posted
U.S. President Donald Trump urged Republican senators on Friday to repeal Obamacare immediately if they cannot agree on a new healthcare plan to replace it, potentially sowing confusion as congressional leaders struggle for a consensus on healthcare legislation.
Senate Republican leaders had set Friday as the target for rewriting legislation that would repeal extensive parts of the 2010 Affordable Care Act, the law dubbed Obamacare that expanded health insurance coverage to 20 million people.
But that deadline seemed unlikely given that by Friday most senators had already left town ahead of next week's recess without an agreement on a clear direction for the healthcare bill.
It's incredible that after almost eight years of constant himming and hawing there isn't a viable Republican option.
They can't even seem to get anything that's palatable for their rabid base, given how the recent attempts were received.
"I don't care if it'll fuck 20+ millions of people over, I want it GONE because obummer's in the name"
-republicans; donny rump
Of course they can't agree on a replacement, because they don't want one. And this shows they just want healthcare gone, I doubt they will replace it if it's repealed.
Donald Trump and republicans only care about healthcare inasmuch they can squeeze profits from it and fuck over people who cant afford it. This is a travesty and something should be done about these scum soon.
...or fix the one already in place?
I urge Donald Trump to quit the presidency now and try to enact more executive powers later

why do the people who are trying to replace obamacare have punchable faces

What a great dealmaker. When Congressional Republicans make him look bad, he tells them to cut corners and work on half the job in order to rush something through so his government accomplishes something before the 4th of July.
I'm sure "Trump wants to slash health insurance and worry about a replacement later" is gonna play great back at home over the 4th of July.
That wont work either. There are enough moderate Republican senators that see the Medicare expansions in their states that came from the ACA as a net plus that they'd vote down a full repeal without a replacement just as they'd vote down the bill in it's current state.

The ironic thing is that he survived polio. He of all people should want to keep people healthy, but instead he wants to fuck over millions.

Well that's the thing, some people don't care who gets fucked over as long as they make more money. Previous illness doesnt factor in there.
Oh so after like 7 years of being massive bitch babies they still don't have any tangible replacement ideas? Really goes to show how competent the party must be.

Their idea all along is to privatize healthcare and fuck anybody who doesn't have the means to pay for it. And when you think of it, there are many republican voters who don't like Trump's plans for medicaid either.

They're idiots. They're honest-to-God idiots who couldn't even manage to run so much as a churro stand in a mall if they were put in charge of one.

Yet people keep voting for them.

Clearly he made a deal with Nurgle to survive, so now he's upholding his part of the bargain.

I call BS, if he made any deal with Nurgle he should be a disease ridden lump by now
Yet people keep voting for them.
Racism: Not even once.

Judging by the picture given in this thread, he must have traded his chin and jaw to uphold the bargain.

Polio really dropped the ball on this one
Shit all over Obamacare for 7+ years
Finally it's your turn to run things the way you've envisioned it for all those years
"Ehh, this shit is complicated, just end coverage for everyone and we'll worry about it later."

i feel like if he fails to do anything before 2018 then we won't see mcturtle survive as senate majority leader too long. the gop never seriously wanted a repeal because they knew they couldn't replace but they did what was going to win votes and lied their asses off and whipped up fox and limbaugh so now we have to gamble and play chicken with tens of millions of people's lives

Because you already hate the person, so you automatically consider them a "punchable" person no matter what they look like. Can people stop saying this now?
...or fix the one already in place?
It could be possible that he and others sincerely believe that the ACA is not helping to keep people healthy.
It could be possible that he and others sincerely believe that the ACA is not helping to keep people healthy.
So the solution is to remove it entirely? That's like getting a cut on your hand and amputating your arm to "fix" it.

They don't care for a viable republican option. There can be no plan, and these people could die from their diseases due to not being able to afford medical care. They just don't care.
