Anime - Why do most people here hate it? - General

I'm continuing the discussion from the closed [URL="http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=932463"]"I am ashamed" thread [/URL] I think most people here hates anime because Pokémon and Digimon was awesome when they were kids but it's extremely lame now and they can't open their eyes for other anime series that aren't meant for kids or horny hentai-loving basement dwellers. There is other stuff out there :geno: I like anime because there is an anime for every personality. There are sad animes, happy animes, mysterious and shocking animes, silly and funny animes, awesome and badass animes and dramatic lovestories/lives. I just don't like the eyes and the really annoying voices everyone has.

Quick question, am I the only one to think "ONE PIEECEE!!!" when I read Fairy tail? Because I have gotten into it a year ago, I think, And I had that feeling from the very first page I read.

I'm not really a fan of it (Although I watched all of Elfen Leid that shit was awesome) but I really don't see anything at all wrong with it.

Because people idolize it and don't shut the fuck up about it.

Because popular internet culture tells them to hate it is why.

I dunno. Anime can be all right, but usually the characters look retarded, the writing is bad and there [B]far too much perverted objectifying of women[/B] in it. Yeah. Its the perverted stuff that annoys me the most actually - and it explains why most people who like it are massive nerds (not physically massive, although that is a distinct possibility too).

I like the design of characters, just not the animated series. also much anime, or more manga, is perverted nowadays

Its ok. But MOst of it sucks

they can't even spell tale right

That's just going too far

The style has been overdone, you see with western comics the style is free to change and develop, you almost never see a comic done in the same style by different artists in Europe and America whereas in Anime everything feels the same, granted there are variations of the artwork and yes granted most of the people that work in Anime and Manga are spectacular artists however every thing feels the same. Western art has the ability to grow and change whereas Anime will always just be Anime.
