A former California Highway Patrol officer who secretly sent himself and his colleagues nude photos of arrested women from their cell phones will spend three years on probation but will be spared jail time.
Sean Harrington, 35, pleaded no contest Tuesday morning to two felony charges of unauthorized access to a computer and copying computer data for secretly sending himself the photos of DUI suspects.
What an asshole
To be honest, that's a pretty shit thing to do but not something to send somebody to jail for.

Indeed. Fined, fired, blackballed from law enforcement. But I don't see any point in contributing to our already out of hand prison overpopulation over something like this.
Lost his shield, is going to be a convicted felon the rest of his life, and he must also speak at a community violence solutions class to tell everyone what he did. That's what happens when you get caught abusing your position of authority. Even the lawyers admit that if it was just some ordinary citizen who did it, it likely would have been a misdemeanor charge. All things considered, I think he definitely got what he deserved. He didn't go to jail because he plead no contest and had a deal lined up to prevent any real prison time, aside from 180 days in jail. Had it gone to trial, he'd be looking at years in a federal prison.

Maybe not jail time, but I don't think he should be on the force anymore.
He's not part of the CHP anymore I guarantee you.
I can't understand why after all that work he decided to do such a stupid thing. When I heard this I was very shocked especially since it was a CHP officer, they have one of the greatest/hardest academies in California. CHP is known for honor and integrity but this is definitely a shame.

Imagine your wife/girlfriend going to jail for some bullshit charge like possession and then having her nudes sent around the office when she was only sending them to you.
Still disagree?
