20%-80% off Human Resource Machine, Infinifactory, Spacechem and more!
What happens when you put together five of the most inventive, bizarre, and challenging head-scratchers available in digital format? Why, that's no puzzle: a grand cerebr-ation of unconventional thinking is what happens! And that's what our Weekly Staff Picks: Puzzled are designed to do: so grab any of these five excellent brain-ticklers and try to match them with their corresponding discounted prices! No, wait, scratch that. We just went ahead and solved this one for you.
Despite our best efforts, our glorious alien overlords have finally managed to put us under their thumb. Naturally, their first order of business is to ensure earthlings are pulling their own weight. You are to manage a vast 3DInfinifactory (designed by the fine people behind Spacechem) where you can roam free, set up your own assembly lines and allocate all available resources in an efficient fashion that will optimize production. But try not to die in the process. That would be most unproductive.
Fighting against aliens may seem futile at times but at least those buggers (usually) have a face. What are you going to do when you come up against the faceless Tessellated Intelligence System-100 that speaks only in Code? Why, try out-coding it, of course. Use your mad programming skills and binary creativity to rewrite corrupted code segments, solve its taunting puzzles and uncover the curious truth behind its real function.
"Lay off gaming and get yourself a job!", they say. "But I already have one!", you reply. You've been playing Human Resource Machine, haven't you? The quirky office-simulator from Tomorrow Corporation (of World of Goo andLittle Inferno fame) that lets you play around with all the variables of the company's workload and find the best solutions to increase productivity in a super-accessible but progressively challenging manner. Well, good job. Now quit dawdling, get back to it and have fun!
Still got a couple of little grey cells to spare? Be sure to also check out Spacechem (-80%) and Sokobond (-50%) the final two pieces of the Weekly Staff Picks: Puzzled. The promo will last until December 24, 10:59 AM GMT.
Get Bio Menace FREE, and up to 75% off Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Quake, and DOOM.
Happy Holidays from the GOG.com team!
The holiday season is here. The world, in all its little shopping frenzies and chaotic reunions, seems to slow down just a little. It slows to taste the crisp winter air, to be childishly entranced by all the lights and colors.
As for us, we're going to celebrate with a little something special.
With a new free game in our catalog: Bio Menace, something of a mix between the smooth and joyous gameplay of Commander Keen, and the alien weirdness of the original Duke Nukem platformers. The spacey 2D shooter by 3D Realms is now part of our selection of free, truly worth playing, classics.
With a Happy Holiday Sale from GOG.com & Bethesda:
Have a holly, jolly discount. It's the best time of the year. We don't know if there will be snow, but have a cup of deal. It's up to 75% off the entire Bethesda catalog on GOG.com - including the three and only classic Falloutgames, as well as some of the best shooters in history: the retro Wolfenstein 3D & Return to Castle duo, The Ultimate DOOM, DOOM II & Final DOOM alongside the Quake series (from the singleplayer gory of Quake + Quake II, through the timeless mutliplayer mayhem of Quake III). Finally, there's the chance to explore the history of The Elder Scrolls with classics like Morrowind, Battlespire, and Redguard.
As always, any purchase from the Bethesda catalog on GOG.com comes with a free copy of The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls Chapter II: Daggerfall!
Looking for last-minute gifts? There ya' go.
The sale will last until December 29, 4:59 AM GMT.

TBH i've expected Bethesda to add their Terminator games, oh well.
Note: This is the only digital store to offer Quake 1 and 2 with actual music on it. As well as Redguard and Battlespire, spinoffs of Elder Scrolls games.
Bio Menace? Holy fuck, I remember playing that as a kid!
Oh shit, I was looking at getting the first 2 fallout games seeing as I never played them. I just want to know, do these versions play well with modern machines?

I haven't had any issues with them.

You can get a widescreen fixer for Fallout 1 (I don't own 2 any more, so not sure about it), which is pretty necessary to see everything on the UI.

Rad, I'm gonna go for it then.

GOG Fallout games should work out of the installer on widescreen. I know at least that FO2 and Tactics do but haven't tried with FO1 yet.
Just downloaded Fallout 1 to try it, also works widescreen just fine.

The Bethesda rerelease (The Interplay version now called "Classic" that needed the patch isn't for sale anymore) has the high-res patch pre-installed.

I've got the GOG version of FO1 now and I still needed to get a widescreen fix. Some of the skill assignment buttons on the character creation were off-screen, as were some of the in-game UI elements.

It's all in-screen to me (even centred in the screen with quite a bit of dead space around it), maybe you don't have the latest version? It's (GOG) version 2.1.0.18, according to the installer (as far as I can tell the GOG version isn't shown anywhere except for the installer, so if you've already deleted it, you might not be able to check).
Bio Menace is the third game they gave away in the last 2 weeks.
I played GOG versions of Fallout 1 and 2 with a widescreen fix from start to finish with no problems.

That might be the case.

It's not a giveaway. Bio Menace stays free forever in their library.
