OK. Yesterday my brother came home from school yesterday mad about something then I see the thing he is mad about. It was a rap about the bill of rights that he was required to sing, for a grade. I mean, alternatives to normal learning are OK, but this is just outright idiotic. Here are the lyrics to the song:
BY:Flocabulary LYRICS: number 1 freedom of religion speech and press, plus you can assemnle in crouds and protest. number 2, right to bear arms and cannons i bet the minute men didn't no about handguns, number 3 when soldiers get sleepy you don't have to them sleep up on yo couch. number 4 no-one can search and seize, it protects me unless people have a warrent to arrest me. number 5 if arrest me respect me sorry alic theres no double jepordy. wuddu do after school? i pled the 5th. wuddu do afta that dude? i pled the 5th. i don't have to incriminate myself or risk my health, whenever i'm in trouble i just please the 5th. number 6, you must process me speedily. 7 in front of my peers on the jury. number 8, if you can do was cool, no unusual punishment, you can't make me drink terpentine for the fun it 9 the people have more than these rights, 10 states can make other laws and they just might. This is the bill of rightsx6 This is the ten amendments, the first ten of the constitution baby!
What do you all think?
My school has just lately started putting fullstops in the middle of sentences for. no reason
School should be preparing you for life, not teaching you something you will not use or singing.
I definitely think you make a good. Point?
you should kill your brother. that'll teach em!
in 7th grade my french teacher would teach us different songs to remember certain things, like different forms of words. she constantly gets emails from previous students who are in college now, telling her that they still use the songs she taught us to remember certain things. singing can be a pretty good way to aid memorization.
Clearly he was. enrolled in Shatnernomics., an elective. for the. younger ones.
I thought of becoming a teacher, let students teach themselves - let them make powerpoints and i would just sometimes make some tests. Could take 3-4 teacher jobs and rake in cash.
in america, maybe. but not in europe.
It happens alot, they just presume every kid likes rap, I have had to do this about 5 times already in different subjects
uhh i mean whatever helps some kids learn. Ive had several teachers require me to recite and sing stuff for a grade. Now the songs and stuff helped me remember them, and i can still recall them now; however, forcing kids to get up and perform in front of your peers i do not agree with. Ive always had stage fright pretty bad, and forcing me to do it just made it worse. I have now overcome some of my stage fright, but forcing me to get up and what not did not help with it.
yes i 1000000000% agree with you
I don't find schools to be getting more stupid here, just the students.
tell him to turn it into a jazz session.

You can't teach yourself some higher level stuff, or fundamental stuff very easily.
Damn that song is lame.

It was terrible considering 50% of the information they presented was wrong.
I don't find schools to be getting more stupid here, just the students.
No, me and my brothers are perfectly fine. About every student there hates the "music", and they do this just about every week. That rap doesn't even rhyme, and its oddly structured (bullshit)

I could usually get alternate assignments when shit like this came up. I'd just go to the teacher after class and tell them that I actually wanted to learn something, and that this "No Child Left Behind" bullshit was a blight on education, which usually got any respectable teacher fired up enough to rebel against the approved curriculum and give me something more bearable. Most people involved with education hate NCLB, which is what makes shit like your constitutional rap so prevalent in public schools. They have to make everything soft and cozy and simple, so that even the slowest mouth-breather in the class can get a passing grade, or else they lose funding. If you find yourself stuck with an assignment like this, talk to the teacher after class and they might hook you up with something better.
That song is rubbish.
Uh what's your point
It's not the students, It's the teachers.
considering your thread. Title? yes.
I fucking hate having to make a song or rap for school. It's funny how some teachers think it's a "cool" activity
