Hey guys,
Figured I would share this all with you all (since it's creative). I started a lets play channel (DONT, click away just yet. Give me a chance), and figured I would share it with you all. I expect to go far with this channel and am working hard to create a quality lets play channel.
So check it out! I just started it last week and have 35 subscribers (My music channel has 1500). Others will be helping me edit, maintain, and upload video segments. Different personalities will keep the channel interesting, and lets plays on both Consoles and PC platforms will ensure variety. All of us will be using high quality webcams, and professional studio quality mircrophones. We will also be making videos that do not include webcam footage, to provide that choice.
I am taking this channel VERY seriously. I don't want to be "just another random ass" Lets Player that puts out poorly edited, low quality videos.. I really want to take this somewhere, and with your help I can. Let me know what you all think I should add to the channel. What would you all like to see?
So give me a chance, take a look at the video, and if you like what you see, like, favorite, subscribe, and leave feedback. Thanks. Also remember, with time comes improvement. This is my first shot at anything like this.
Thank you all for your time.

Pewdiepie already has a pretty good handle on being loud and unfunny. I'd suggest trying to bring something new to the table.
[sp] also your cursor is on screen which is extremely irritating.[/sp]

[sp] also your cursor is on screen which is extremely irritating.[/sp]
When you think of what something new is, especially when it comes down to lets play channels, then let me know. PewDiePie has 10,000,000 subscribers so I shouldn't have anything to worry about, on top of that I am nothing like PewDiePie at all. On top of that Yamimash also has had huge success being unfunny. Before you just rip on someone else's work you should try providing useful feedback.
I wouldn't suggest getting pissy with people who don't like your let's play. It's an extremely unoriginal channel, and you aren't particularly funny. If you brought something new to the equation, it would be more likely to succeed as a channel in a community already oversaturated with this exact thing.
If you want specific feedback, I'll do my best.
Although I couldn't force myself to watch the whole thing, here's what I've got.
Typically, when things are edited like this, they highlight parts of the recorded gameplay that are funny, or impressive, or what have you. This looks like you simply cut out any part of it where you weren't talking.
Throughout the video you either just say what is onscreen, or you devolve into some sort of yelling, or a really poor joke.
I watched part of your other video about elemental. You spent an entire minute and a half saying essentially nothing before starting to actually play, at which point you played and said nothing of value.
You're clearly trying, and I'd be willing to bet that you'll improve as you get better at ad libbing while playing, but it's really just not there yet.

That is some useful feedback. I was getting pissy because you basically just said I sucked without giving any merit. I am not looking for praise, nor am I expecting to be some amazing lets player. I have watched other lets players develop over the years, and many have the same slow start.
Improvement is part of the game, but giving something you enjoy doing a try is never going to hurt anyone. As I bring other personalities on-board my channel there will be an element of originality that is brought about. The most important thing is that I be myself.
Just like my music channel, I started out with 0 subscribers, and my content sucked. However, after about a year and a half of learning new things, I have found my own unique style and gained 1500 subscribers on YouTube, and 350 on Soundcloud. My point is, I don't expect to be good at first, I just expect some positive feedback. Always room to grow.

Why did it have to be happy wheels ):

It isn't their font. It is the first font that comes up on dafont.com when selecting a certain category.

It may not seem like it to you but I spent alot of time setting up that channel, and a lot of time working things out. I am sorry my video didn't entertain you, but one thing I have learned from my music...is I am not doing this channel for anyone but my self. What ever comes after that is purely beneficial to creating a community.
I thought I would share something I put effort into and spent time on. Me, my editor, and my other three lets players all have a combined 25,000+ subscribers on our other channels. We know how to grow channels, and how to provide creative content. We all started somewhere.
It's not like I am gonna stop doing lets plays, so may as well work on getting better at them.
It's a way for me to relax and have fun.
I get that your doing something your interested in and that's cool, but people wont appreciate the work you put in when your doing something a million people have done a million times before, there wasn't really anything unique in what you did since your style of humor really wasn't that different from a lot of other lets players and there wasn't really any form of opinion in the video.

I have some ideas currently that would set my channel apart, and I am drawing out some plans as to where I can take the channel. It is definitely not an easy thing to do, trust me on this. Part of the reason I am "unfunny" or "generic" is because I still haven't found my own unique style, and after years of watching other lets players, I have picked up ques from them. Part of the issue right now is time, and immense stress. So that is severely impacting my creative ability. Once summer role around I should be able to really focus on what I can bring to the table.
For right now all I can do is gather constructive feedback, and take everything with a grain of salt. Whether or not you agree, lets playing is an art; its basically acting in front of an audience, improving. Like most artists who start out, either in art, music, etc. being good doesn't usually come naturally, but with hours of practice. Also just like any artist, they are constantly looking for feedback. Which is why I appreciate those who are actually taking time to type out useful insight.

I never understood what's so hard about being yourself playing video games.
I never understood what's so hard about being yourself playing video games.
It's not so much an inability to be yourself, it's more like realizing that "yourself" isn't as funny as you thought.
happy wheels? really?!
Yeah play something other than happy wheels, it's been done to death, if you're taking it so seriously, I'd suggest not doing what a thousand other people are doing, the yogscast font comment is a valid one, if you want to stand out, use a different font and I know I've already mentioned it but jesus christ happy wheels
not good

Thanks for the feedback, I already have a unique channel font, but didn't use it for this video. I am also doing a different variety of games. Also all this talk of originality is bullshit for the most part. Look at Yamimash, Minx, Cry, Seananners, Nerd3, Markiplier, TobyGames, PewdiePie, all of them do the same fucking thing, the originality and the piece that draws people in is there individual personality. No one gives a shit about originality in the Lets Play business.

Why are you asking us for help to be exactly the same as everyone else then? Your videos are exactly the same as everyone else, you don't need advice for that, you seem to be so concrete about trying to make this into a cash cow, best of luck but don't expect people to give a shit
I don't really know why you bothered posting this at all. Every piece of feedback you get, you heartily refute with teary little eyes. If you don't want feedback, don't post anything.

What are you talking about? I already took advice from a few of my other friends. Useful pieces of advice that could improve the channel and help. You tell me not to do generic games like Happy Wheels. Fine, I won't, and my next video is an indie game that no body has given much attention to. telling me to "be more original" and to "be more funny" is not fucking feedback. How the hell do I follow feedback like that, if you don't like my personality or the "originality" of my videos then don't watch them. As I have said numerous times, but that no one seems to understand, is that as of this moment bringing any sort of lets playing is simply not possible in the sense that you all think.
"Cash cow"? Where in my entire post did I mention wanting to make money off the channel?
Example of a piece of useful advice my friend gave me, "move the camera to the left so it doesn't look like your staring off screen." Which is in fact useful and an improvement. I haven't even had time to change the font of upcoming videos, and the font logo on my CHANNEL graphics are not from Yogscast. Which uses a font that is on the front page of the biggest font site in the world. Hows that for some effort and originality on Yogs part. Your feedback is way to broad, and saying I am not "funny" is an opinion that I take with a grain of salt. You're right I shouldn't scream, and my editing was bad, that is valid advice that I have taken into consideration.
Nothing any of you has said has discouraged me from making videos, and maybe that's your actual goal? I have a few more in the works and have made some improvements using some of your feedback and the feedback from my friends. I also don't expect YOU "to give a shit". You clearly have no interest, but you honestly don't make up the entire population, all of whom think differently, have different likes, different opinions, and different definitions of "funny". So from that end I am not to worried.
Oh, I think I understand this thread now. You just posted here to get more views and subscribers, not because you wanted to improve.

Right, on a forum in the creationism corner that has 43 viewers at any given time, when I have another channel with 1500 Subscribers, and 10,000 monthly views. Totally just here for the views, and subscribers.

Sorry to say but shit is still shit even if it's served on a silver plate.
I didn't feel engaged as a viewer. A lot of your quotes and comments sounded un-enthusiastic, you look bored as hell, turn off your Skype, move the mouse cursor off the screen, the Facecam is too invasive (Shrink / crop out the useless background stuff / remove it completely) and Happy Wheels isn't a good choice to play (Been over-done sooo much now)
Although you do have really good audio and video quality, so that's a start I guess.

Thank you, some feedback I can go off of. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Why would I have any reason to do that. You seem to think I am getting all butt hurt. I took your advice, and you seem to think I ignored it. Which I can't really seem to understand since I laid it out pretty clearly.
1. I do have another font, I picked up the one I am using on the Happy Wheels because it was the first font on dafont.com, I don't even watch Yogscast. Solution: I will use a different on next time.
2. I said I am going to play a variety of games, smaller indie titles like element, and TVOThief.
3. Then I shed light on originality and how I see it.
Not sure why everyone thinks I am crying about shit.
I posted up for feedback, and genuine wanted it. I asked for FEEDBACK, not criticism or idiotic comments like "you sound like pewdiepie". Do I sound peeved? Sure I probably do, but that's what happens when someone is attacked for seeking help on something. What else would my response be? "Thanks for calling me an unoriginal, boring, and unfunny asshole." No, because that isn't feedback, what Daemon posted was good feedback, and I have no problem with accepting that feedback, because he isn't being a jerk about it. Just respect others and there content, regardless of what you think of it.
I asked for FEEDBACK, not criticism or idiotic comments like "you sound like pewdiepie".
You seem to have a skewed view on what feedback is. It doesn't have to be helpful to you for it to be feedback. You asked for feedback, you got feedback. It's just overwhelmingly negative feedback, which I think should tell you pretty much exactly what you need to know.

this isn't true at all
people like supergreatfriend, who do something unique (shitty ouya games and shitty xbox live indie games) are some of the best ones out there.
the fact that you call it a lets play business says a lot about the state of lets plays

Yes it does say alot about the state of lets plays, says a lot about the state of YouTube in general. Most YouTube content creators do makes money off of there videos. It's there job, but that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable for them. As I said earlier, creating content takes a long time. Am I doing lets play for the money? No.
I have been thinking of different directions I can take my channel in terms of originality.
