How scummy. Although, I'm not even surprised at this point. Wasn't he also charging Secret Service to get on his plane? What an asshole.
I feel sorry for every single Secret Service Agent who's going to have to put up with this shit for at least 4 years :v:
Apparently, this ad was by one of the associates of Trump, Douglas Elliman, although it's not confirmed whether Trump is liable for this as well.
Again, Trump was seen as the less corrupt candidate

It's worth noting that the Secret Service has to pay when they provide security through TAG Air, one of his companies. Also, they have to pay when they stay at his hotels. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/donald-trump-secret-service-campaign-travel-payments-228553 He's farming money from them, and also from us (the taxpayers).
You mean 8? :v: Anyway, this is a move by one of his associates, not by Trump himself
Let's not assume trump will suspend elections before it happens, shall we?
I feel sorry for every single Secret Service Agent who's going to have to put up with this shit for at least 4 years :v:
You mean forever? He'll still be a former president.
tbh i can't tell if you're being sarcastic or you actually believe trump is a fascist
He isn't a "true" fascist, but he has a bit of fascist undertones and his ability to attract far right groups is extremely concerning.

If Trump orders these businesses to write off the costs, wouldn't that be a conflict of interest? [editline]6th December 2016[/editline] Hell, it would actually save taxpayer money to have the SS agents pay out of their own pockets, rather than have the bureau pay for it as a benefit. How do they handle this at other hotels/airlines? [editline]6th December 2016[/editline] As others have noted, this article is referring to advertisements posted by an independent real-estate organization that owns Trump Tower properties.
tbh i can't tell if you're being sarcastic or you actually believe trump is a fascist
Sarcastic. But Trump's gonna be a one term president.
Sarcastic. But Trump's gonna be a one term president.
We hope. Lord knows the world hopes that.
Sarcastic. But Trump's gonna be a one term president.
depends on if the democratic party gets their shit together and promotes an actual progressive.
Sarcastic. But Trump's gonna be a one term president.
Oh don't say that, don't get our hopes up. Now you've said it, he's going to live out a third term just to spite us all and drag us further into the abyss. If there's a Federation out there in our galaxy, I would not object to them carrying out a coup down here.

"Well OBVIOUSLY steel workers should have to pay for the raw iron, what else would make sense???"
no the solution is not using your hotels and airline as it is that which constitutes a conflict of interest. also why the fuck would the agents pay out of their own pockets?? that never makes sense
I imagine the SS has to be as close to Trump as possible. Would we rather have them stay at a hotel farther away, or fly on a different plane? (The expense!) Obviously this wouldn't be a problem if Trump just sold off his businesses, but that's not going to happen, so we need to find a different solution. In the aforementioned scenario, it would make sense to have the SS agents pay out of their own pockets to reduce the overall expense of keeping the SS nearby. I know you're trying to make a big point and collect stars, but you must admit that checks out from a budgeting perspective. I'm not even advocating for this, it's just a hypothetical. Chill out.
The difference here is that the steel workers' salaries are not paid out of tax revenues. I'm not even advocating for this, it's just a hypothetical. Chill out.
I'm not mad, it's just kind of silly. Yes, they are paid in state revenue, but doing what they do is their job.
He shouldn't live on a penthouse on top of his hotel and if he does, taxpayers shouldn't pay for it, that includes the secret service paying what are extravagant sums to stay there. I can only hope he actually take residence in the White House as that would actually, compared to your wacky solution, save some taxpayers money. How can you expect secret service agents to shell out 400$+ per night? it's insane at best and extorsion at worst. It only make sense in a weird ''minimizing-spending-at-all-cost'' accounting way, that is to say it can't work out in any real situation. also, I just replied to you because what you said didn't jib with me, what has the ratings got to do with any of this ??
I feel sorry for every single Secret Service Agent who's going to have to put up with this shit for at least 4 years :v:
Depends on when you were president. Some get protection for life, others get protection for 10 years after office.
The best solution would be for Trump to use unaffiliated hotels and airlines. Like everyone else has to. Under no circumstances it makes sense for agents pay the costs themselves. Seriously, WTF?
The difference here is that the steel workers' salaries are not paid out of tax revenues. I'm not even advocating for this, it's just a hypothetical.
Because it is their job? "Well OBVIOUSLY steel workers should have to pay for the raw iron, what else would make sense???"
Well they can save a lot of money if they get the steel illegally from china :B It's another ongoing conflict of interest that he's just investing the country's money into his company. Why the hell is the White House not good enough, because it has gold leaf rather than solid gold? If I were him I'd expect loads of assassination attempts thanks to the previous attempt on his life, and asking people to kill his opponent if she were in power and also the new 9/11 potential like who wouldn't right? Man I thought clinton was the one who was bad at security, the worst point about her ability now makes trump "my penthouse is stronger than the white house" "I deserve a plane that can't survive shots from an ak-47" look bad by comparison.
this isn't necessarily trump's doing. but certainly, there are people working for him making tons of money due to Trump's exposure. however, isn't that capitalistic in nature?
I would be extremely worried about what it would say about Trump's character if he broke time honoured tradition and didn't take up residency in the White House. Our Presidents (who have no-where near the power but command the same figurehead status as the US President) have ALWAYS lived in Áras an Uachtaráin since the Constitution was enacted in 1937. There is extremely important symbolism behind the place of residency of an Irish President that should not be ignored. And it certainly shouldn't be ignored in the States.

How do they handle this at other hotels/airlines?
Can't speak for the Secret Service, but the Army pays you per diem when you travel on TDY (temporary duty), on top of your base pay. Usually, it's enough to cover food and lodging. Never had a situation where it didn't, but then again, I've always been put up in barrack housing of some kind.

If Trump wanted to avoid conflicts of interest he shouldn't have used his own airline. You're paying someone - in order for you to get paid yourself - and the agents will probably lose money instead of earn money.
