I kind of get the impression they are both antagonizing each other.
My friend who's a barrister watched this and said that although some of the questions where not to do with the case, he should have just gotten his lawyer to bat them aside or answered them coolly instead of being belligerent and just outright arrogant.
As he is being questioned for a deposition, and they are forming a case which will be used in court, he doesn't HAVE to answer the questions, but everything is pretty relevant to the case as a picture needs to be built for the court to hear.
