Mouse related question for all you people with pet mice.
I have a very timid mouse at the moment, tried everything to coax it out of its shell so to speak.
If I purchase a hand raised mouse which is very friendly and place it in the same cage will it rub off on the older one?
Both would be female. Cage is large enough for 8 mice let alone 2.
Adding another mouse is good anyhow, mice like being with friends of their kind.

I would go for it, even if it doesn't become more friendly, at least it will be less lonely.

I dont know, That doesn't work with children.
I have a pet mouse. I pet it all day long. Its tail is so long, it goes all the way behind my desk and reaches the back of my computer.
The more the merrier.

But yeah, from what I know with rats they are supposed to be in at least pairs, so maybe that translates over to mice.

Made me think of that episode of south park where Paris Hilton shoves a pineapple up her ass.
We used to have a pair of mice that were related and they ended up fighting eachother constantly.
Just keep watch on their behaviour and if they end up aggressive towards eachother you may have to split them up.
I used to have a mouse. Then it died so I soaked it in brine and then wrapped it in paper so it would be mummified and then buried it in a domino box covered in plastic wrapping so it would be preserved.
mice are social animals, so you should not expect repercussions.
Whatever you do, do not put mouse and a rat in the same cage.
I did and my rat ate the mouse, there was almost nothing left.
