• Texas ice storm

Any Texan will know that our weather system has experienced yet another technical difficulty. Currently in West Texas where I live there's 3 inches of solid packed ice on the road and my stepped lawn is frozen solid. There haven't been any accidents due to the weather in my town but then again almost nobody's trying to drive. All school districts are closed and so are most businesses and city offices. I was going to walk to the square and take some pictures of our beautiful courthouse under the ice but fuck that. Anyone had anything amazing happen? Non-Texans, don't make fun of us. We weren't prepared for this. :( [t]http://i.imgur.com/BrMQIE4.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/pdtbtrk.jpg[/t] A faucet we tried to cover, it didn't save it. Here's a picture I just took and am quite fond of- [t]http://i.imgur.com/MglyCjm.jpg[/t]
Pretty much the same here in Dallas.
Looks like some sleet/ice activity at the hill country/Austin where the end tip of the active weather is. short to say im not going to see much of any of that ice here at SA
There's usually shitload of shitloads of snow in the winter here in Estonia, but never ice like that jesus.
Reminds me of typical upper midwest winter.
Reminds me of typical upper midwest winter.
Now trying coping with that without tire chains, flat, straight roads, decent central heat, well-sealed homes, and on top of that, no experience with the conditions.
The cold just recently hit us too. One day it was too hot for a jacket, the next day even a jacket couldn't keep the cold out. We didn't get anything near as bad as that though, which is surprising. Being in Texas, y'all probably aren't used to it.
Listen to the ice crack as I walk... Those PJs are over blue jeans and I'm still freezing.
Who turned the AC on? It's mighty cold.
Weather forecast here claims it's going to get to -15 for the second year in a row. Living in a desert really sucks, as we get both extremes. It was 110 during the summer a few short months ago, and now it's going to drop into the far negatives.
I Live in keller, this shit sucks.
I'm in College Station. Snow damn it.
I live in Arizona it just started getting cold...I wouldn't know what to do if i woke up and my street was filled with snow. May god be with you
It's been getting warmer this winter here, I'm in Tennessee. Still hoping for snow anyway.
DFW is totally iced over, I almost skidded into a tree.
And no snow here in Canada, lol
And no snow here in Canada, lol
You kidding? They're calling for -29c tonight.
Just cold and windy here in San Antonio.
I Live in keller, this shit sucks.
Quiet Hunter
Anyone had anything amazing happen?
Not a chance I'll get called in this weekend now. On the other hand I was supposed to move this weekend and I don't have my computer here. Just this shitty old macbook.
Central Austin here, i got a little rain, and it's cold but other than that nothing.
Cold as freaking shit in Houston
Cold as freaking shit in Houston
yeah, but at least it didn't snow
Compared to that one incident 2-3 years ago, the amount of ice (no, it isn't snow) we have right now is barely anything. Can still see the street and sidewalks and stuff. But that one time back in 2010 or 2011 you couldn't see the ground at all and it was fucking glorious :v: Let's just say i'm in the general area of the metroplex, for comparison.
I remember this. That was in 2011, I believe. I was in Keller at the time. Watching people trying to get out of my complex was funny as hell. There was this huge ice bump int he road and everybody tried to floor it when going over. Tons of screeching tires. The last day of the storm, it snowed what, about 4 inches? I liked that. I just walked around in the snow.
Its been fucking terrible here in Odessa. Because of the insanely large amount of people for the size of the town there have been over 20 wrecks on I-20. Luckily only a few piled up. I also hate the fact that its all fucking SLEET. NOT SNOW FUCK THAT SHIT SO HARD UP THE ASS IT MAKES ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF I WANT TO MAKE SNOW ICE CREAM GOD DAMMIT.
im in sapulpa Oklahoma and we have ice over all the streets and at least 6 inches of snow and it sucks
in Plano here, I feel bad for college students everywhere in this area studying for finals and shit, it gonna not be pretty at all for us.
in Plano here, I feel bad for college students everywhere in this area studying for finals and shit, it gonna not be pretty at all for us.
At least it's on the weekend. Here's to hoping it clears up next week. Has anyone been on the roads? I've been too terrified to even leave my apartments. Occasionally I hear a car and the terrifyingly loud sounds of cracking ice.
Listen to the ice crack as I walk... Those PJs are over blue jeans and I'm still freezing.
Aw I love that kind of snow! The way the ice feels when it cracks..
