President Trump told Republican donors at a closed-door fundraiser Saturday that "maybe" he'll look into consolidating his power like Chinese President Xi Jinping.
"He's now president for life. President for life. And he's great. And look, he was able to do that. I think it's great," Trump said of Xi, according to CNN, which obtained a tape of the speech at the Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla. "Maybe we'll give that a shot some day," he added.
He hates everything about America doesn't he.

Where's that hot air impeachment vote "promised" when you need it?
Every nightmare we had about his presidency is becoming reality, isn't it?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought CNN was a banned source for bias and sub-par factual reporting?
These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward liberal causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage liberal causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Left Bias sources.
Factual Reporting: MIXED
Give it a shot and see what happens
Go on

even the most right bent judge would have a hard time excusing the 22nd amendment
:wideeye: Imagine if ANY previous president said something like this. (except maybe FDR, he might have gotten more terms/practically been president for life if he didn't die)
So, am I finally allowed to call Tinyhands a fascist wannabe dictator?
Implying he's not already trying.
Whenever I think it can't get any worse...

I don't think they're gonna lie about a literal tape recording of the POTUS speaking.

It's on tape, keep fucking blaming CNN. Sorry but trump is literally the worst person. If you haven't figured that out by now there isn't any hope
alright, so who wants to bet on what Mueller bombshell it was that made him spaz out this time?
It's on tape, keep fucking blaming CNN. Sorry but trump is literally the worst person. If you haven't figured that out by now there isn't any hope
He never said trump isn't a terrible person, he's just saying that CNN isn't a trustworthy news source. stop shoving words into people's mouths.
From Mediabiascheck
Factual/Sourcing = 4 (CNN is mostly trustworthy for providing evidence and sources, but sometimes jumps the gun on breaking stories)
So no real reason to think they're lying about this. They would've just reported that he said it if they didn't have tape evidence to prove it.
Oooo what a terrifying thing to say as a joke.
A little bit of Duterte in the drug policy, a little bit of Jinping in the electoral process, what's next? A bit of Putin for the free press?
This really is a veritable "Best Of" of the last 20 years of various dictatorial policy
[editline].[/editline]
"It was just a joke! Just like all the other stuff that he was joking about that ended up being nauseatingly real!"
You know, I'm almost impressed at how one human being can, on an almost daily basis, make remarks that paint an even more monstrous picture of him than the previous day.
From weird incestuous comments, to xenophobic wall comments, to defending pedophiles, to becoming dictator for life, it really just a downward spiral of evil. By the end of the month he is going to be defending cannibalism.
You silly liberals don't understand humor
Who hasn't jokingly said we should repeal/ignore the 22nd Amendment, and thus erode a core principle of our democracy?
In the past 72 hours, Trump has suggested he wants to come for your guns and he thinks it'd be kind of cool to eliminate term limits and name himself President for Life.
If this was the Obama presidency, the White House would already be on fire and Fox News would be calling for Republicans in Congress to impeach him.
But it's a good thing you guys didn't elect Hillary, right? :downs:
I didn't realize MAGA meant putting this shitflick in place as our king.

Humor us with momentum driven international influences, irreversible causalities, persistent political problems, and deeply rooted national flaws.
It's incredibly sad that the hands down worst president in US history is the one so insecure with himself that he'd go for a "President For Life" thing because another nation did so.
Sadly not surprising, what with his sudden interest in gun control (to potentially keep them away from wanna be assassin's, not that I am advocating that) and throwing the poor a monthly ration pack.
But hey, I might just be selfish because I'm not thinking of how this benefits the already well off.
If term limits were removed, but with the result of Obama running for a third term and beating Trump, the rage from Trump would be delectable.
Fun fact: when John Adams lost reelection in 1800, it was the first time in history an elected head of state lost reelection, and he chose to peacefully step down from power. Can we not break a 218 year long streak? :worried:

It would be :incredible:

Let's see if Trump "keeps us in suspense" again :downs:
I can't imagine what will happen if he loses the 2020 election. I wouldn't put it past him to start a war to keep power. Or maybe declare his opponent an enemy of the state?
Remember all those people who chastised others for calling trump a fascist? How smug are they now?
This sort of shit has been happening since day one. "Trump is obviously going to do X if elected!" "No, you're talking out your ass!" *Trump does X* Cue the second person up and disappearing on you.

And Washington, too
