[release]Noting that India is increasingly getting concerned about China's posture on its border, a top US intelligence official on Wednesday said that the Indian Army is strengthening itself for a "limited conflict" with China. "Despite public statements intended to downplay tensions between India and China, we judge that India is increasingly concerned about China's posture along their disputed border and Beijing's perceived aggressive posture in the Indian Ocean and Asia-Pacific region," Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said in his prepared testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. "The Indian Army believes a major Sino-Indian conflict is not imminent, but the Indian military is strengthening its forces in preparation to fight a limited conflict along the disputed border, and is working to balance Chinese power projection in the Indian Ocean," he said. India, Clapper said, has expressed support for a strong US military posture in East Asia and US engagement in Asia. He said China in 2011 appeared to temper the assertive behavior that characterised its foreign policy the year before, but the internal and external drivers of that behavior persist. "Moreover, although Chinese leaders have affirmed their commitment to a peaceful and pragmatic foreign policy - and especially to stable relations with China's neighbours and the rest of the world - Beijing may take actions contrary to that goal if it perceives that China's sovereignty or national security is being seriously challenged," he said. Many of Beijing's military capability goals have now been realised, resulting in impressive military might. Other goals remain longer term, but the Chinese army is receiving the funding and political support to transform it into a fully modern force, capable of sustained operations in Asia and beyond, he said.[/release] http://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/Americas/Indian-Army-preparing-for-limited-conflict-with-China/Article1-805017.aspx AWWW FUCK
India what are you doing?
so that's why i couldn't get tech support to stop putting me on hold yesterday
I have no idea what would happen if they'd actually get into an armed conflict.
I have no idea what would happen if they'd actually get into an armed conflict.
There would be fighting.
I always thought India and China were buddies.
This doesn't mean war.
I always thought India and China were buddies.
Erm, they had a conflict in the 60s/70s
China "We could not help noticing your millitary units gathering near our borders" India "we mean you no harm, our units are merely passing through the area" China "A likely story" 5 turns later Inida declares war on china
Well it's not that bad if it's a limited conflict. Sure, war is bad, but I don't think either China or India is willing to devote the resources and manpower of a full blown war. It will probably be some obscure border dispute where some oil or minerals are located and a war will be centered around that area.
India what are you doing?
Being prepared in case of a small-scale conflict with a nearby, previously hostile superpower. Doesn't sound so ridiculous when you actually, you know, think about it.
God dammit Gandhi.
He's a sore loser too. [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/594696715537196992/13B5FC0D283679CDFA5E433D90E989101455B3EF/[/t] Oh boo hoo.
china has massive fields where they practice wargames for the invasion of india found that interesting
I always thought India and China were buddies.
No, it's Pakistan. China built them a new port city from scratch and she even seeks to build a military base in Pakistani soil. China still have moves to play in that region. Indian Ocean is quite important to China since it's the shortest way to yummy Africa. India's reaction is natural because they're getting cockblocked on the ocean that has their name in it.
Gandhi: making Hitler look like Jesus since 1991.
Indira actually did forced vasectomy what?

Whatever happens, keep the US out of it.

They have no problem whatsoever with resources, either. If India fights China, China isn't going to stop; they'll fucking crush India.

GodImgettingtiredofsayingthis
NOTHING WILL HAPPEN

I sure hope neither of them are dumb enough to actually use atomics; those kinda weapons are too dangerous and polluting to use at all. That is, if this even escalates beyond speculation and allegation.
I shouldn't feel this way but this is interesting to me. Two nations that both can easily conscript huge amounts of people that possibly go to war but probably won't. They have the people and the money, just like China.

Weird, because last I heard their relationship with each other are quite good. India's main trading partner is China and they are planning military exercises together this year. "India and China are two very populous countries with ancient civilizations, friendship between the two countries has a time-honoured history, which can be dated back 2,000 years, and since the establishment of diplomatic ties between our two countries, in particular the last ten years, friendship and cooperation has made significant progress." - the prime minister of China (from wiki) Said quite well. [editline]2nd February 2012[/editline] They had a small fight with each other in the 80s, but both realized that it could escalate and become a full-blown war so they backed down, like two civilized nations. Nothing tells that their attitude towards war has changed.

What are you talking about, China's main resource is its cheap labor costs, making it attractive for foreign companies to hire and base production in China. I swear, its like people type out of their ass sometimes.
I heard hitler was Chinese
Doctor No was.
