In the image, below, Oni Press has written "Doom is Coming" on top of a purple background, two themes used on the show, using the font used in the credits of "Invader ZIM". Oni Press also mentions in their post that more news will be announced on Friday 20th February 2015! Jhonen Vasquez, the creator of "Invader ZIM", also retweeted the news on his official Twitter profile page
whenever febuary 20th comes around and they announce whatever it is, i will update with a proper source.
Did the online petitions finally work?
Maybe if we're lucky they'll make issues based on the unused scripts.
Awesome, invader zim is one of my favourites!
Vasquez's other stuff is great. Way darker than Zim, but great nonetheless. I'm curious to see if that'll show in a comic version of the show, since they'd (theoretically) be able to get away with a lot more shit than the stupid network censors would allow.
It's great to have it back, but I feel like its going to be pyrrhic victory because of the downsides of s comic in comparison to a show.
jhonen started as a comic artist he'll be fine
jhonen started as a comic artist he'll be fine
he will be able to delve a bit deeper into the darker aspects of the show now, too
It will never be the same without Gir, Zim and Dib's voices. Honestly the voice acting meant as much to me as the art style and crazy ass shit that went on in the series.

The comic'll probably be good. Most comic spinoffs are.

So now we're gonna see the return of those girls who are bat-shit obsessed with Gir?
So now we're gonna see the return of those girls who are bat-shit obsessed with Gir?
I still see those at my school
So now we're gonna see the return of those girls who are bat-shit obsessed with Gir?
Was just about to post this. Thank God I'm out.
So now we're gonna see the return of those girls who are bat-shit obsessed with Gir?
Obsessed with Gir? Try those who are still somehow obsessed with Jack Skellington. That fucking movie came out almost 22 years ago, long before many of them were even born, and it's still somehow relevant to those people. Strange.

I wonder why it isn't being done by Slave Labor Graphics.
So now we're gonna see the return of those girls who are bat-shit obsessed with Gir?
To be fair, there are so many reasons to love Gir

I would have prefered if the show came back instead. Sure a comic is great, but nothing can capture the charm of the show unless done perfectly.
I read about this the other day. Awesome! It's too bad comics don't come with music. The show has some really great tracks.
I wonder why it isn't being done by Slave Labor Graphics.
To be honest, Slave Labor can barley keep up with the demand of their backlog, let alone something the magnitude of Invader Zim. The downside of an indie publisher.
They could get Invader Zim on some channel like FX so they can pull all the crap they want to in terms of episode material.
So now we're gonna see the return of those girls who are bat-shit obsessed with Gir?
Wait, they actually went away where you live?
Well that's nice. I liked Invader Zim as a kid. But I thought Jhonen Vasquez hated Invader Zim and all its fans. I remember a couple months back where he put out a tweet along the lines of "INVADER ZIM FANS: GOOD NEWS LATER TODAY" and then later that day he put a tweet out along the lines of "INVADER ZIM FANS: Had a good sandwich today. Invader Zim still cancelled forever."
They could get Invader Zim on some channel like FX so they can pull all the crap they want to in terms of episode material.
That would just end up like Ren and Stimpy's Adult Party Cartoon.
