• Photorealism possible?

I just thought this up, and I thought this would be the best place to put it: Seeing as you can zoom in and use grids in MS Paint, would it be possible to make a picture look like a photo? While this would be very impractical and difficult, it could work, in theory.
It's possible, and people do it. If you want to see some examples that people do using something MSpaint-esque, check out the galleries on iscribble.net, or just google "MSpaint masterpieces" or something to that effect.
I don't know about 100% photo realism but this guy did this which looks real when zoomed out. http://thegreenjavelin.deviantart.com/art/Mountain-Lake-105184776

I've tried to make some photoreal portraits too. Nothing fantastic, I don't like to use millions of different shades. Rhiana Griffith as "Jack" in "Pitch Black".
Looks like someone just compressed the shit out of a picture.
Jpeg raped his mountain.
Since there's no way that he's drawn all that in one sitting ( or at least it's not likely ) I wonder if he saved it as JPEG and continued after that, compressing the already compressed JPEG artifacts over and over.
I want to know how it looks as a full on png.
It looks more like impressionism than photorealism.
