Good. Now, ask yourself: Where the fuck is the United States when you truly need them?
Shit like this makes me want to dismantle the U.S. Government and reestablish it as a Peoples government.
I fucking hate politicians, all of them.
That's a bit of a hasty generalization.
edit: FOR CHRIST'S SAKE WARN PEOPLE ABOUT THAT SHIT

Look out for the NSFW tags, idiot.
Those things are overused. I thought it would be something other than the corpses of protesters torn asunder. Our post count was identical before this post.

Also, this isn't a time when we need the US. These regimes are not going quietly, but the last thing we need is for the US army to invade yet another middle-eastern country and violate the sovereignty of the protesters. These are their revolutions, cone with their own blood, sweat, and tears, and most of all, done without the intrusion of a disliked foreign power.
The fuck do you want us to do about it? Invade them?
We shouldn't be world police. We fought and died for our own revolution a few hundred years ago, these fucks can too.

If we intervene, people complain about how we're the world police and blah blah; if we don't intervene, people complain the world police aren't doing their job blah blah.
They need to do this for themselves, at the most we could give them weapons, but it's not like that's never backfired on us before (it has).
We aren't the guardians of the world. Only blowhards with big-dicks for war and a desire for justified conquest would try to spread democracy by the sword.

Apart from that, the intervention of the 'world police' would just incite your own values to be instilled in their society - which they may not even want.

I agree. Unless they ask for some foreign help, we shouldn't really physically support or deter them.
What did you expect? Those people are fighting to take madmen out of power, and the madmen do not want to give it up.
It's their fight, their business, horrible as it may be. This is not a lone mugging on a city street, this is an entire nation at war with itself.
The US can't be the one to go around sticking it's nose in everyone's business all the time, we have our own people to protect and getting involved in someone's war puts our people in danger.

*angstily tweaks neckbeard*
in about 15-20 years we're gonna be just like them, but with more guns on both sides.
Sooooo...you want us to...invade them or...?
I'm not sure what your getting at, we don't need more colonies. It's their revolution. Are the British intervening? The Germans? The Russians?

We're in huge debt too.
We're in huge debt too.
Which is a sad thing on it's own.
The US is very capable of taking care of itself, but with the way certain people have decided to do things now we're in this hole, the people who put is there are going to die off and the rest of us get to foot the bill for the rest of our lives.
Doesn't help that we've moved away from being a nation of builders to a nation of businessmen, we have so little in the way of national product now it's pathetic.
*a country needs help*
*US helps*
"FUCK OFF WORLD POLICE"

Pretty much sums it up. People are gonna hate on us no matter what.
It seems like every time the United States tries to intervene, the rest of the world looks upon us disapprovingly. However, what's happening in Libya is horrible and I wish there was some way that we could help.
We shouldn't be world police. We fought and died for our own revolution a few hundred years ago, these fucks can too.
Well, technically, that argument would not entirely work here because the French intervened into the American Revolution.
Well, technically, that argument would not entirely work here because the French intervened into the American Revolution.
Yeah so why aren't people asking the French for help?
I mean if they help with America's revolution, it's only fair that they do it for everyone
Like we need another "Operation [Insert Middle-Eastern Country/Verb Here] Freedom"
There goes our spending. Off the charts.
EDIT: And my Uncle is already getting ready to go off to Afghanistan to advise their military. AGAIN. He's like my dad to me. I don't want to deal with another shit operation.

That isn't the point. He said that Americans fought and died for their own revolution, so other revolutionaries should, too. However, the problem with this statement is that the U.S. did not fight its revolution alone, and had foreign aid, mostly from France. Therefore, using such an argument to back up why the U.S. should not be the "world police" is null as foreign intervention had an effect on the American revolution as well.
I'm not backing up the idea that America should be the "world police" in any way. In fact, I oppose such an idea. However, a historically-inaccurate argument was used to back up the ideal, and I felt it was right to clear the air about it.
Monroe Doctrine, we need to get the fuck right back into it.
Monroe Doctrine, we need to get the fuck right back into it.
Trying to have an inactive foreign policy is just as bad as an interventionalist one.
Look at Jefferson and his Embargo Act.

Exactly, what we need is a policy with a focus on peaceful trade, there are plenty of nations who would welcome trade without drawing their guns when things take a dive.
Crying about your business/economy tanking because you invested in an unstable region is like crying over loosing money on a high risk stock trade, you put yourself in that position in the first place and it should be enough of an incentive not to do it again when you can't afford it.
The only thing I can think of is sending in people to help the injured like doctors/medics or something. Besides that though there isn't much the US can or should do.
The people who run the U.S don't care about the lives of anyone, not even Americans. They just see them as a faceless sea of monkeys.
