So I got these really cheap Soviet pins, but I want to know what they stand for, and as I don't know much of Soviet, or reading Russian, it would be good if someone could explain it for me.

Number 2 is the Shock Worker's badge, or something.
Number 4 should be some scout-badge-thingy, and number 6 is the youngsters communist party symbol.
I think, after some research. Could you explain it more to me?

Na, I'm not even a socialist. But I got the pins for quite a good price, and as the junk collector as I am, I bought them.

The red means that the Russians would die for their country. The gold means that they are a country of riches. The stars are a military symbol, and I have no clue what the faces are. Probably leaders of the C.C.C.P
[editline]4th February 2011[/editline]
Also hammer and sickle means that they forged their country with blood and Iron.
The second one says: Drummer of the communist labor and has Lenin on it.
The sixth one is of Komsomol - A political party in the SU. It has Lenin on it.
The third one has Stalin on it, I think.
The fifth one has Lenin as well.

Here we see the rare Russian weeaboo, also known as weeabookovich, in its natural habitat of an Internet message board. Familiar with Soviet terminology and symbolism, probably owns an ushanka or other Soviet memorabilia, but knows little of the actual Soviet Union. The fact that he cannot even identify the image of Vladimir Lenin (found on pins 2-6), founder of the Soviet Union, speaks volumes.

I remember terminology better than people.
What's with facepunch's obsession with all things Russian?
Actually, I bought them for the soul purpose of selling them to other facepunchers. At the moment, I have yet to find a buyer, but they caught my interest, and I started seeking the meaning of them. The pins, that is.
Wait wait, The mostly bald person is Lenin, The guy with hair is Stalin, 1 is a young Lenin?
What's with facepunch's obsession with all things Russian?
There are a few Russian weeaboos here, just like weeaboo weeaboos (you, judging by your avatar).

2-5 are Lenin, 1 is some random worker from what I can tell.
The first one is a Young Lenin Star
Wait wait, The mostly bald person is Lenin, The guy with hair is Stalin, 1 is a young Lenin?
The picture might be blurry. They're all Lenin except the hairy one in the big star. Don't know who that might be though.

Most likely propaganda of some sort. military men or politicians may have worn the stars.
What's with facepunch's obsession with all things Russian?
hammer and sickle is symbolic of the alliance between the proletariate and peasants, its a symbol of communism, not just the soviet union the star is the symbol of the communist part, and red is a big color in russian culture anways

It's common knowledge that the hammer and sickle represent the industrial and agricultural workers of Russia. Red doesn't necessarily mean willingness to die, but usually just represents blood spilled in the founding of a country. The face on 2-6 is Lenin. 1 is most likely just a representation of the common man.
I'd expect better from "U.S.S.R".
[editline]4th February 2011[/editline]
Er, 5 (and maybe 3, hard to tell) is Stalin.
[editline]4th February 2011[/editline]
Scratch that, 5 (and thus 3) might just be Lenin because of the pointy chin. Really hard to tell, though I can't imagine they would put images of Stalin on pins since Lenin was the figurehead for the Soviets.

Well, I'm interested in Russia because I find it to be a very interesting place with a lot of history. Anybody's guess as to why some people here are interested in it because of communism, though.

Who the fuck can't recognize Lenin?
5 looks like Lenin to me; you can tell by the chin.
it looks like stalin to me, but the way he is portrayed(with the big chin sticking up) looks more like lenin, thats weird.
15 year old Europeans that like communism for god knows why
You're a moron. Most of us know about Communism, because we've suffered through it since 1945 to it's fall in 1990.
it looks like stalin to me, but the way he is portrayed(with the big chin sticking up) looks more like lenin, thats weird.
It's Lenin. That's the only thing I recognize on the pins. The picture might, as said, be a bit blurry though, but I assure you that it's Lenin.
Even the star with the kid should be Lenin apparently.
