Fuck EA, holy shit.
Awwww man, this looks like a Renegade spiritual successor/sequel, would had been awesome.
The game was 90% complete when it was canned. The Devs were about 5-6 months from finishing it when EA told them to pull it.
God DAMN IT this looks great from what I can see here. Hopefully someone picks it up in the future, I'd love another Renegade.
What. the. fuck. This looks like it was gonna be AWESOME.
Looks pretty okay. I'm not really a big C&C fan so I don't really feel upset that it was cancelled. Would probably end up being a neat 'lil shooter I might've picked up if it was released.
Was so looking forward to this, damn EA
I never got why publishers cut games like that which show solid promise.
Quite frankly I doubt that Tiberium would've been anything more than your typical brown-fog generic military space-shooter but I felt that it would've at least offered the chance to present the story in a new light. The C&C games in their RTS format were starting to get stale, and its not like the series' transition to FPS would've simplified their already simplistic and micro-oriented gameplay to the point that they would've become too "casual," despite what some C&C and RTS zealots might have you believe.
That looks neat as fuck.

Also they had little green light beams shining upwards from them (which I assume is having that unit selected).

I really can't for the life of me understand why this was canned aside from it being ass. It's part of one of the biggest franchises EA owns, it's a shooter that's not in gritty realistic modern day, and they were advertising it like fucking crazy. People would have been throwing their money at this thing!
Imagine working that hard on a game, putting your heart and soul into it, then when youve almost completed it, you're told to throw it all out. I mean, thats just fuckin cruel.

This thread just made me hate EA a whole lot more. I love squad based shooters.
this reminds me, does anyone know if the Renegade X team have a permission to use the C&C designs? they could easily recieve a C&D and another project many years in the making would go down the drain
I remember the original footage. What could have fucking been eh?
It's just sad. If you sell your franchise to EA, it's like signing a contract with the devil.
I don't understand how it's even logical to ever cut a game completely when it's this close to done. It's 90% done; 90% paid for, so even if you think it'll bomb like a motherfucker, why not release it and have the few people who will like it enjoy it? Not saying this one looked like a bomb, but it just evades me why you'd do it, even to bad games.
Release it for free!
Didn't really look like Command and Conquer though tbh, but this would of been great if it was made, that looks like beta footage? It'd be like Renegade all over again.
