The attack came a day after Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman was quoted by local media as saying his country will work to close down Al Jazeera in Israel.
Al Jazeera "has abandoned even the perception of being a reliable news organisation and broadcasts from Gaza and to the world anti-Israel incitement, lies, and encouragement to the terrorists," Lieberman said.
Al Jazeera has been covering the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip that started on July 8.
"The foreign minister’s comments were a direct threat against us and appear to have been taken as a green light for the targeting of our journalists in Gaza. We hold the Israeli authorities fully responsible. They have put the lives of journalists in danger," the network said in a statement.
...
The death toll in Israel’s 14-day assault climbed to more than 607 Palestinians, including dozens of women and children. More than 3,700 others have been injured.
On the Israeli side, 27 troops and two civilians have been killed.
It's still unknown who did it. Anyways, Al-Jazeera, despite how they're in essence Ma'an news, have the right to report on the situation. Who ever purposefully fired those shots should be punished.
"we don't agree with you, so we will shut you down"
Al-Jazeera, despite how they're in essence Ma'an news
No they are not, whatever you are attempting to imply. They are side-by-side with BBC. Unfortunate, but this is typical of Israel's past pattern of targeting journalists.

Was this really needed to add to the thread in the article? It's not exactly important to this specific incident and we all know people are dying over there with the Palestinians more so than the Israelis.

Any news agency run by [del]Jews[/del] Arabs can't be trusted.

Let me cut out all the filler from your message and get towards what you were trying to suggest.

Are you serious? Any network covering the subject of the Gaza war adds the death toll. With the fact that it has reached half a thousand in a matter of days, the only reason why one would complain about that is if you'd want it hidden.

I don't see how he's suggesting that at all.

Who said those shots were from Israeli's? You avoided that part of my comment and instead decided to squeeze a bit of lemon-juice at me.
No they are not, whatever you are attempting to imply
Have you not noticed it? In every single Israel/Palestine thread where the reporting is done by Arabs, there is always one poster attempting to discredit the news source.

Well it's not surprising when considering how shit your news sources recently have been.
I've found that Al Jazeera is one of the most un-biased news networks in the world. I follow them (mostly on worldwide topics) and so far their coverage seems to be on par with other news outlets. I haven't seen any bias in their articles so far. I haven't read every article on Gaza, but again, from what I've seen, they've maintained a neutral journalistic view. In fact, I'd be more inclined to trust their news than others', because they have more readily available access to the conflict area.

Accusations of racism? How is that any different from me calling you anti-semitic, you squirmy hypocrit.

It's in half the threads of SH and seriously, after all the posts I've made in those threads the past few days, you call out this one to imply I somehow want to hide the fact? What a ridiculous, dumb assumption out of my post.
Should I get a tinfoil hat for you?
Who said those shots were from Israeli's? You avoided that part of my comment and instead decided to squeeze a bit of lemon-juice at me.
If it weren't for the fact that Israel has a pattern of attempting to silence news networks that are perceived to be critical of Israel, we might give benefit of the doubt of the highly precise shots fired at Al-Jazeer's office a day after Israel's fanatic FM (Lieberman, who has a clear history of publicly advocating censorship) vowed to shut it down.
Even if they are a bunch of liars, they shouldn't be destroyed. They should instead be proven wrong in a just manner.

What are you talking about? Only a fool would put forth the effort to make a post complaining about the reporting of Gaza's rising death toll, as opposed to the dramatically rising death toll itself.

No, I'm not complaining that it was mentioned in the article. That's standard for journalism. Nor do I have an issue with it as a fact of the world, either.
What I was criticizing was you purposely sliding that into the thread itself. It's a rule that we can not put the entire article from the news into the thread, so everyone has to edit what they make in the OP. Which means you went out of your way to include that, which has repetitively been said in almost every thread about the conflict thus far even when it really has nothing to add to the fact that Al Jazeera, a news agency I respect (I guess I should add that before you take some other implication out of it), was fired upon. You're purposely repeating what's already known just for the sake of sniping at "Israel is bad, look at all the civilians they've killed".
Because targeting Journalists is the smart thing to do... Really rallies up support for your cause and shows the world how you're side is the good guy.
Don't worry guys it's okay because Hamas is hiding weapons there and they are clearly using journalists as human shields. Also, collateral damage, war is hell and all that, and by the way why are you complaining about this non-issue rather than about oppression in Iran,Syria,Iraq and Africa?

"Because of rule X and how people paste this, that means you went of your way to [...]
You're leaping to a lot of conclusions on a non-issue. If Israel did not the update the civilian death toll by 100 every day, then you'd probably see the death toll a lot less.

It's common knowledge that the death toll is rising. It's warzone, one would have to brain damaged to not realize that.
That piece of the article is added into the news for the sake of those who aren't reading into the conflict in general and have zero knowledge of it. Which is not anyone in this thread; everyone here knows.
Also, if it were a non-issue, why was it added to the OP?

But they really don't. I've seen posts in several of these threads implying that Palestine has killed more people than Israel.

I haven't. The only thing resembling that I've read is posts saying Hamas would kill more people if Israel didn't have the Iron Dome, or those contributing human shield deaths to Hamas (which is rather dumb).

No they don't. I am still perplexed why are you so fixated on this, but just because you know does not mean everyone else is aware.
Also, if it were a non-issue, why was it added to the OP?
THIS is a non-issue. You are exploding a rising death toll report into some secret subliminal propaganda attempt, just chill out dude
Al-Jazeera is a good news source but they're pretty anti-Israel IMO, just look at their opinion section and it becomes fairly clear.

They're in a war zone, how are they going to find the people that did this while the entire cities being bombed and invaded by the IDF?
What do you propose, Monkah? The only way they're going to find out anything about the people who did this is if there happened to be a camera on them at the time, and even then that's not very much to go on.

It's another Ma'an news. The only reason people like Starpluck and Lamar use sources like this is because it validates their ass-backwards belief that Israel is the root of all evil and that Palestine is God's holy creation.
What's gonna happen if a CNN journalist gets caught in the crossfire? People would be flipping shit.

I like it when a source is quoted and not in your favor you (and people like you) immediately dismiss it as a biased source.
Edit:
Shower me in boxes please. Typical.
