Since World cup is fast approaching, I thought its about time we have a thread on it. And it'll be interesting to see Americans suddenly becoming interested in Football.

Although I never cheer with the highest expectations for switzerland, this years pot looks awfully bad for us. However we did beat spain once in the first matches. (which didn't matter for them anyway).

Honestly, our World Cup is about giving the young players experience. I don't expect much from England this year but I'd be pleasantly surprised if we can go out there and hassle the other teams in our group.

I think England will get past the group stage but then get knocked out straight away, and i think that would be a brilliant campaign for us.
Seen alot of people backing Belgium as the dark horses who will storm the tournament, honestly cant see this happening and there is way too much hype on Belgium

I dont think its the worst group we could of gotten and i certianly havent written us off, i dont know if Suarez is out, but Uruguay's strikeforce make them especially dangerous and without suarez the chance of us giving them a game is heightened.

Italy are nothing special this year imo, hard to beat but dont pose a threat of hammering us, which gives us a chance. I'd say a draw, also italy are not used to the heat which puts us equally in that aspect.

Costa Rica game we realistically should win by -1 if we really want to.

Dont know much about heat and shit but Italy surely cant be as hot as where we are playing? Its meant to be blistering, and Forlan isnt what he once was, still a threat no doubt.

True, Forlan isn't what he once was but Italy is still pretty hot. England have a young squad and just are not ready IMO.
