This show looks dumb as fuck honestly, was clone wars this stupid?
how in the fuck does that even work
:hammered:
Ok yeah, it's a bit dumb but at least it's special lightsaber that's designed to spin like that and not just the dude spinning it around in his hand really fast. Doesn't explain how it's aerodynamic but since it's sci-fi you could assume that the blade changes shape for "flight mode". Still, looks silly as fuck.
This show looks dumb as fuck honestly, was clone wars this stupid?
Clone wars was way better
how in the fuck does that even work
It has a rotating hilt.
It has a rotating hilt.
I know that but how does it even lift them the blades are pure energy
I know that but how does it even lift them the blades are pure energy
Your guess is as good as mine. I mean, I always assumed that the lightsabers energy blade was so dense that it acted as if it was solid. Star Wars is filled with shit that makes you scratch your head. I guess we should just be glad the Extended Universe is no longer canon as that's were most of the REALLY dumb stuff was.

Yeah that part is really dumb. The show itself has good moments.
The show is amazing, and this only happens once, and it is the Season finale of Season 2. It never comes up before or after.
that episode is really good it's just the only one that also features those. it's weird as hell
The show is actually good, but everybody likes to hang on this one really, really dumb moment to write the entire thing off. I don't really know how this idea even got through, seeing as nothing else even remotely this silly appears on the show. Also, related:
This show looks dumb as fuck honestly, was clone wars this stupid?
If you can tell from the beginning of an episode that Jar Jar or R2/C3P0 were going to be the main characters, then there was a good chance you were going to see some equally dumb shit.
If you can tell from the beginning of an episode that Jar Jar or R2/C3P0 were going to be the main characters, then there was a good chance you were going to see some equally dumb shit.
Not entirely, there was a great episode in the 2nd last Season with Jar Jar and Mace Windu.
I know that but how does it even lift them the blades are pure energy
idk how do blades of light not just pass through eachother when they strike [editline]29th April 2017[/editline] how do blaster beams not pass through a lightsaber
idk how do blades of light not just pass through eachother when they strike [editline]29th April 2017[/editline] how do blaster beams not pass through a lightsaber
You could make the argument that the forms of plasma that lightsabers/ blaster bolts are made of are some kind of matter that will make contact with itself, but cut through (almost) everything else, which afaik is basically the canon explanation. That still doesn't really explain how a form of matter which cuts through flesh, bone, and most metal like butter manages to produce any significant upthrust.
The lightsabers are hot and cause a big updraft hire me star wars
I fucking hate how every character has to bob their head and change their facial expression 24/7. It doesn't help that darth vader is a skinny little guy and doesn't have any aura of power.
It's like they have the flying thingy from Ape Escape.
Well, It's Science fantasy show within Science fantasy franchise ever all. And this is must be the most fantastic thing I just watch as Star Wars fan. [editline]30th April 2017[/editline]
The show is amazing, and this only happens once, and it is the Season finale of Season 2. Star Wars was never a universe that tried to make sense of its sci-fi in any way that is consistent with the real world or even itself in many cases. Lightsabers are magic future swords, deal with it
All these assholes had to do was give them jet boots or something and it would have worked perfectly you could have easily also have one of them break
Things
All right, I suppose I was a bit too generous in my phrasing. I'll definitely agree that the ship exploding was dumb. Sabine getting shot in the head is the sort of thing that I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for, canon notwithstanding. I see the point though. With the helicopter lightsabers and the ship blowing up out of nowhere, it feels like the writers sometimes stick themselves into a corner and then cheat their way out instead of getting creative. I can't quite remember if Clone Wars had to do anything like what Rebels does to make its stories work. The lightsaber helicopters are great to make fun of, heck the video I posted is in my YouTube favorites. My main problem whenever it comes up is that it's just stupid enough that people who don't watch the show can say, "Well I guess the entire show is this dumb, absolutely nothing of value to be had over here" and be completely justified in believing as much. That isn't the case though, as episodes like the season 2 finale (besides the helicopters obviously) are decently solid in my opinion.
and no Mandolorian armor isn't blaster proof in canon.
Actually if the Rebels/Clone Wars creators are still pulling stuff from legends like they commonly do, mando armor is both lightsaber and blaster resistant. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mandalorian_iron
"Beskar is enormously strong, able to deflect blaster bolts and even lightsaber blades."
lmao it just fucking breaks at the end
It's like they have the flying thingy from Ape Escape.
I was thinking this instead at first but yeah that too.
Shockingly not the worst that the extended universe has come up with.
Are we shitting on the show now
Problem with that is that we've seen Mandolorians die to blaster fire in both TCW and Rebels. Also if you look you can see that article is under "legends"
It's highly implied in the show that anyone in the Phoenix Cell don't kill their enemies. As weird as it sounds prior to season 3 there were a lot of times we saw the storm troopers get shot by Kanan,Hera, and Sabine. But if you take a look you see them either breathing or moving around, so logically it means Sabines blasters aren't exactly at the tops of what they can be. We still see them get taken by explosions or destroying tie fighters but youre not explicitly seeing them shooting to kill. Granted season 3 seems to have done away with it for the most part where if the stormies are shot they either die or their armor actually works and saves them.
