I mean, whats the use of having an image on your website if nobody else can fucking see it?
I'm sure we've all seen something where it just a bigass ''DON'T HOTLINK LULZ VISIT THE SITE'' Image where we thought we would post it.
Is there any reasoning behind it, or are they all just idiots?

Hotlinking = stealing bandwidth.

it uses their bandwidth
edit: ninja'd...
i remember this story where tons of people hotlinked this one guy's drawing so he replaced it with goatse
well, OP, you should re-upload pictures instead of using their bandwith! my knowledge of computers is very limited but anyone should be able to put two and two together and realize putting an image from one place in another place wastes the original host's bandwith
Bandwidth
Just use Imageshack, Photobucket, or Tinypic to re-upload them. It only takes like, 5 extra seconds.
Or hotlink to see if they have an amusing 'no hotlinking' image.
Some mod better close this thread so the OP isn't embarassed even more.
Here is a picture explaining why you don't hotlink:

What I don't understand is why all the "NO HOTLINK PLZ" pictures are so huge. If you want to save your bandwidth when you notice a hotlinker, you should really make it a smaller picture with a notification.

Got a point here. A simple 20 x 80 gif saying "Fuck you no hotlinking" would be enough for me
Why don't they just not show up?
Hotlinking = stealing bandwidth.
But don't they still hotlink the don't hotlink picture completely defeating the purpose?

Depends, it could be hosted on a site like photobucket, or a smaller filesize.
