Since 2007 I have been using a program called Pepakura Designer which makes papercraft models for costuming for for display. I've made 3 costumes myself using this method, and I'm on almost every site that deals with Pepakura, if you see the name Nintendude or Vagabond somewhere then it's a good chance it's me. I've actually been using the MDL files from files I've found on here and from FPSBanana and the S-Low website to create pepakura files with by converting the MDL to OBJ then seperating the parts of the OBJ for Pepakura. Right now I'm working on files for a Half-Life 2 Suit, Robocop Suit, a Portal Gun, a Crysis 2 Nanosuit, and many other files. Now to the point if you guy's want to see a papercraft file made from your MDL or if you have a OBJ file ask me here and it will be created. I do this service fully free for those intrested.
Pictures of your work?

Give me a little bit I'll collect some photos of unfolds I've done and photos of costume's I've created with this method. [editline]10th April 2011[/editline] Ok here's a few pictures, my recent Emile Helmet which has been made of paper resined, bondoed and sanded, and then files I am working on at the moment a Robocop File, a Rocketeer Jetpack File, and the Portal Gun which is right now at the top of my list because it's being built for a game store in my area. If you see the Gundam Helmet in my avatar photo it was done with pepakura as well. Do you have a certain item you would like to see made into a papercraft file? Did you make those 3D models? And I'm more interested in pictures of the final product, this looks like something worth trying out.
No the Emile and Portal Gun were modeled by a member of the 405th, I only built the Emile after the file was created. The Robocop which I have the full body of and the Rocketeer Jetpack were files that I found on sites like this and turned them into pepakura files, The jetpack however if you see those red lines are caalled open eddges which does'nt work out in pepakura because the two parts at the red line will not join together until the open edge is fixed then a file can be made, it was retrieved from GTA Garage. The Robocop I can't remember where it came from but it had rigging and bones that had to be removed before I could do anything else with the file.
