So it looks like Switch launch is not going smooth for alot of buyers

From the description:
Very concerning reports about new Nintendo Switch Colnsole. People report problems and issues such as:
Switch screen scratched by it's own dock
System not turning on
System not recognizing games
Screen issues and artifacts
Loud noise and console not responding
Bricking during or after day one update
Joycon sync problems after day one update
Various bugs in Zelda
If you have any of these issues use your warranty and send it back.
Luckily I seem to have won the Switch lottery and haven't had a single issue.

ive seen like 3 reports of people bricking it
1 apparently dropped the system, and 1 turned it off mid-update
What the hell, that dock design sounds god awful
This is why I always wait before picking up a new console

I've always found the 'acceptable number of dead pixels' argument ridiculous. It only takes one to ruin your viewing experience and shouldn't be expected on a brand new unit.
I don't know what DSP was counting in but those were definitely not seconds

Ahahaha. I have an eight year old Sony Bravia TV that only has one stuck pixel. How can this be excusable?

dead pixels are absolutely a defect :why:
I've had customers coming to my store asking if we had screen protectors for the switch, because after only having the system for a day, the screen is getting scratched by the dock. This is inexcusable for a 300 dollar system. they can afford the extra 5-10 dollars it costs to put a gorrila glass 3 or 4 screen out of their profit margin. hell, the thing is basically a phablet with detachable controllers.
Well, that's concerning. I had caveats with the concept of the Switch and it's dual home/handheld console functionality, but I didn't expect it to be this much of a broken mess.
I'm curious to see how the overall numbers of defective units vs functional units pan out, because if the switch can be broken to this bad of a degree and it's in anyway a common issue, then the console is pretty screwed right out of the gate.
And this is why I said fuck it and bought BotW for the Wii U. Not to mention the two versions look identical aside from some extra foliage and lighting that is so unnoticeable it's not worth the 10 fps drop you get on the Switch Version. At this point it seems better to wait for Nintendo to iron out all the issues with the manufacturing or release an updated version of the console before buying one.

haha get fucked
is this view on dead pixels common? that's scummy as fuck
Dead pixels can be expected from a monitor or TV that has been used for a few years, but dead pixels on a brand new product is inexcusable.
And they claim that it's normal and not a defect :unimpressed:
If these problems are as common as this video lets on then they didn't really do that much quality control. It almost feels like they released the Switch in a "beta" state. Which for a $300 unit is unacceptable. After the mediocre sales of the Wii U this is the last thing Nintendo needs.
Overall this reinforces my mindset on not buying a console on launch.

actually yeah unfortunately it is, almost all companies with LCD devices have a clause like this
doubt it stands for anything though
The left joycon has explicit connection problems and it is fucking ridiculous. A cup can cause it to desync. While I am immediately beside the console. I don't understand how this thing got released like this.
I tested it and it desynced when I was touching the system with the controller

I heard Nintendo will replace it if you call their support. I'm assuming that the Q&A is poorly worded and they understand it shouldn't have those fresh out of the box.
Saw this on my feed

They could have just put some foam on the inside of the dock. This is just supreme incompetence from Nintendo.
Good thing I thought against being an early adopter, tbh Nintendo seems to have slowly started to have a bad track record with first batches, the launch N3DS had quite a few problems with some of the first batch seemly having screens of a lower quality that were extremely yellow, as well as a few other problems like dead pixels, I even had to send mine back because of it.
So I'll just wait until they either fix the issues in the next batch or wait for the eventual newly designed and upgraded Switch, that they'll probably release later down the line like they do with there handhelds, I mean I've got my Wii U for BoTW anyway, so I don't really need a Switch, other than BoTW nothing interesting is coming out soon for the Switch, other than Mario Odyssey but that's a long ways away.

Either way it's disgusting that people are paying a premium price for the same build quality as a $30 smart phone from a walmart
Never change Nintendo.
they used DSP as evidence. well...
First round of any new console is usually bad.

I really hope I don't get a defective unit. If I do, I'll probably get it refunded and just wait until summer, and just keep playing the Wii U version of the game, which runs pretty good, aside from some framedrop when too much shit is on screen (Especially multiple explosions), an some pop-ins.
Press the same button three times.
Why?
To be fair, this is every console launch in recent memory.

That's an issue that affects literally every 3DS and 2DS variant. They have two manufacturers for screens and they get both TN and IPS panels, which they seem to stick on the consoles at absolute random. There's also the issue with skins peeling off the pad-prints and coatings off the Switch.
They do -not- care about hardware quality. It's not an issue of them not being able to provide it.

And of course the Red Ring of Death on the Xbox 360, the Yellow Light of Death on the PS3, the freezing issue on the Wii U. ̶I̶ ̶a̶m̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶ ̶m̶e̶m̶o̶r̶y̶ ̶l̶a̶p̶s̶e̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶w̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶W̶i̶i̶'̶s̶ ̶t̶e̶c̶h̶n̶i̶c̶a̶l̶ ̶i̶s̶s̶u̶e̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ Now I remember, it was a overheating issue and double layered discs that was never fixed, but I do remember the wrist straps being a fat sack of crap on release. Gamecube also had a reading issue and would tear up discs and the disc reader.
