President Trump addressed the ongoing crisis between the U.S. and North Korea at a briefing on opioids in New Jersey on Tuesday, issuing a stern warning to the regime for its continued provocations.
"North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States," warned Mr. Trump from his golf club in Bedminster.
"They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen," he told reporters. "He has been very threatening -- beyond a normal statement," Mr. Trump said of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. "As I said, they will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before."
Mr. Trump's comments come amid reports that a U.S. intelligence assessment concluded North Korea has developed the ability to build a nuclear warhead small enough to fit on top of a ballistic missile, including an intercontinental missile that can reach the United States, CBS News' David Martin confirmed.

I don't see North Korean threats ending any time soon.
That sounds an awful lot like the threats that North Korea itself has been issuing the last couple years. A hard stance needs to be taken against NK, but the language here is a little unsettling.
Dump your Samsung stock now everybody
If Trump seriously drags us into a war...a North Korean War...
Kiss your Friends goodbye SK... it ain't going to be pretty...
Dump your Samsung stock now everybody
It's a plot to manipulate the stock market! The US will declare war on North Korea, making Samsung stocks plummet, then Apple releases the iPhone 8 with no home button, causing Samsung stocks to rise again, after Trump has bought them all dirt cheap. :tinfoil:
Two authoritarian-oriented heads of government sending each other baseless threats/warnings
Two authoritarian-oriented heads of government sending each other baseless threats/warnings
How are they baseless threats? They're both sitting on nuclear stockpiles.
The north Korean threat is real for sure. I just don't trust our retarded president to make any good judgement calls when it comes to this situation.
Trump rants about fire and fury from his vacation home in new jersey, what a true leader

To be fair, only a madman would take a vacation in fuckin' New Jersey.

There are some exceedingly nice parts of New Jersey, I'm sure that is where he is.
God he's such a shit speaker. That could've sounded imposing but he repeats it twice with a weird cadence.
Hope nothing comes of this, obviously.
Look at Trump's body language as he says this on video; he looks like he is over-compensating and out of his element.

I think when he talks he doesn't actually know what he means until some time after.

You're a body language expert now? How do you find the time? I thought you had a doctorate in political science based on how many times you've said with absolute certainty that an event is going to result in Trump's impeachment.

I don't think he claimed to be a body language expert. I think he was making an observation.

It is what Truman said before Japan got nuked twice, which ended the Second World War almost immediately afterwards.
The question is, does Trump and the US Army have something even more destructive than nukes that they are considering showing to the world if North Korea decides to not back down? Especially if any of their opponents doesn't have those technologies yet....

Well, making a statement like that with your arms crossed across your chest the entire time is quite odd. Don't have to be an anthropologist or something to see that.
I thought crossed arms as a sign of defensiveness or insecurity (particularly with people you don't know personally) was well known. Plus it's not a stance we see from Trump very often. He usually seems quite at ease with the press.

What do you mean "if North Korea decides not to back down"?

this reminds me of when american "experts" on the kremlin tried to figure out soviet policy by looking at how the chairs were arranged around a table and the way they would enunciate words in speeches

The ICBMs that they have today are far far stronger than the bombs dropped during World War 2

Incorrect, actually.
The POTUS has the ability to order a nuclear strike without congress. I don't know if war has to be declared first, [which WOULD require congress.] but it's not a problem as the Korean War never technically ended.

the president can't order a nuclear strike without the approval of the defense secretary (mattis)
FYI any attack on the US is an attack on NATO, therefore NATO will be enacted, based on the protocol. The Korean Crisis will probably need all the help it can get to handle the new refugee crisis. Also Russia has a pretty good chance to manipulate key interests behind the scenes since lots of resources will be diverted to Korea. Pretty good chance that the US and it's allies will suffer from this.

Only if the US is attacked, not if the US strikes first, or takes up the Korean War that never ended as the cause of action, since that's officially a U.N. policing operation, and has zero to do with NATO.

This sounds like bs to be honest.
Nobody would be stupid enough to let one man alone decide such things. I refuse to believe the US is so fundamentally flawed.

Mattis can't veto the nuclear strike though
