Looks like Sony actually will have some competition this generation, if they're the same price and have the same self-publishing stance. edit: I couldn't find this info on a more reputable site and in fact those more reputable sites have been calling this a rumor.

They don't give a fuck about the consumer, and never gave a fuck about what you wanted. They knew they were going to get away with their original plans of trying to be the next "Steam", and even admitted to that, as well, but when the competition actually showed to [i]be[/i] competition, they turned everything around because they still want your money. I sound like a conspiracy nut, but they will try to re-introduce their original plans of DRM and always-on-Kinect in the future, under some different name.

We did all this, and they literally spat in our faces by adding more ridiculous features. They literally did ALL of this up until E3. E3 was a wake-up call and said to M$ that, "Hey, you actually have a competitor, now!" They didn't change anything and never planned on it. The only thing that is making them change is $$$. The consumer never had a say in this, because, we already did all of our talking before E3.
