So, yes, you will be able to hold it up to your head and make voice calls however silly that may look.
http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/23/samsung-galaxy-note-8-preview/
alright this is getting silly
Give it another couple years and phones will be the size of house bricks! HOUSE BRICKS I SAY!!
why
Remember when people were worried when apple made the iPad? Seems Samsung took their place in making their screens larger every year :v:
People would not think it is so ridiculous if they had just called it a tablet. It's a mid-sized tablet with a possible data connection, that's nothing new. Samsung should have made it clear it's classified as a tablet. No one ever complained the Nexus 7 was too big, and it's possible to get one with a data connection and thus use it as a "phone".
Correction: Samsung selling tablet with a phone built-in. (Jesus Christ how could anyone make a call with this thing. Holding up my Fire to my face is weird enough.)
i remember when my dick was longer than my phone what dark cruel future have we twisted
It's not a smartphone, it's an tablet with phone functions
It's history repeating itself. Just like massive 90's cell phones, except more high-tech.
Obligatory:
Not intending to drag apple in here for a size comparison you're carrying around a tablet with a screen only slightly smaller than the one on the original Macintosh systems. At this point here it's no longer a phone. it's just "a PDA with a phone attached to it".

well this is just ridiculous
I can tell you this will be the next biggest thing (no pun intended) and will completely dominate the market and become the best selling phone of all time. Actually no it won't, stop it.

I remember when phones were all about being compact and thin. Not stupidly large and thin.
i remember when my dick was longer than my phone what dark cruel future have we twisted
my dick was never longer than my phones.... :(

now introducing iPad Nano which is an iPhone-sized tablet! iPod Turbo which is an iPad-sized music player! Samsung Galaxy S4 with a 20 inch screen! Biggest phone ever! Samsung Galaxy Tab Pico with a 1 inch display! Smallest tablet on the market! NOTHING MAKES SENSE ANYMORE
Keep in mind that this is actually a tablet, its not marketed or sold like a smartphone. It just incidentally has call capabilities on the 3G version, just like the Galaxy Tab of old Its also horrifically ugly so hopefully no one ever buys it
I absolutely love my Galaxy SII. The size I thought at first was a little too big, but I am completely fine with it now. (Got it on release date way back when). I was looking at the SIII and I am like, Eh, its a little too big, I don't think I'd like that. Now I think I am okay with the SIII, but if they make the SIV even bigger there is no way that I am going to be able to stick with samsung, the SIII is the ABSOLUTE MAX I would ever use for a hand held. And even then that is pushing it.
I hope 8 inch tablets become more common - 7 inches is too small for me but 10 inches is far too much for me to handle.

All it means is that it has a stylus
Fucker beat me off by an inch.
and i thought my 5 inch galaxy player was big
1:1
Either you're using the incorrect resolution, or you have extremely large hands. You should probably see someone about your elephantiases if it's the latter.
because fuck it it's not like phones are suppose to go in pockets anymore.
Was talking to my mom about the size of these new smartphones some time ago; She ended up getting a S. Note due to it's large size...Bigger words means it's easier to read for older eyes, and since she carries her phone in her handbag, it isn't too big for comfort.
