TPB and KAT confirmed for honeypot
yet people are still legally allowed to record music off the radio
yet people are still legally allowed to record music off the radio
Recording a publicly broadcast performance isn't the same as copying without permission.
yet people are still legally allowed to record music off the radio
but radio hosts have the legal right to play the songs did you really not know that
Recording a publicly broadcast performance isn't the same as copying without permission.
In what way is it different? You still get the song for free.
Okay have fun trying to block them.
well they will always have TBP proxies and youtube downloads will always be possible.
In what way is it different? You still get the song for free.
Publicly broadcast performances will almost always have a little bit of talking at the end/beginning of the song or some other jingles known as 'beds' somewhere within the song to prevent this from happening. Yes, you can still record the song, but it'll have some of their stuff over the top of it or may be slightly cut off.
TPB and KAT confirmed for honeypot
Sorry, I'm not up on my lingo. What do you mean by honeypot?
In what way is it different? You still get the song for free.
Because it was actually broadcast, with permission from the rightsholders, for your benefit. If a song comes on the radio you can copy it because it's a public broadcast, but that doesn't mean you have carte blanche to go download whatever songs you want regardless of whether the rightsholders allow you. This is the difference between taking a free sample at the grocery store and shoplifting the same item from the shelf. Just because something is given for free from time to time does not mean it can be taken whenever you like.
EZTV and YIFY aren't there. So, you can still get your Movies and TV Shows.
Sorry, I'm not up on my lingo. What do you mean by honeypot?
They got busted and the sites are being maintained to collect lists of users for prosecution.
They got busted and the sites are being maintained to collect lists of users for prosecution.
Yeah that's what I figured. That's quite a shame. V Oh.
Sorry, I'm not up on my lingo. What do you mean by honeypot?
It means that "they" put them up in order to entice people into committing crimes, then use it as evidence against them. It was just a joke because all those that are blocked are pretty obscure, while the most known ones aren't
This is stupid as hell. Virgin blocked piratebay like a year ago. I could use pirateproxy for 8 months before they shut that down too. Now im using another proxy for 4 months and its still working... By the time they shut one down 100 other ones emerge [editline]31st October 2013[/editline]
yet people are still legally allowed to record music off the radio
I listen to music on youtube as do pretty much everyone i know. There are programs and even websites that allow you to download youtube videos. As i said this is fucking retarded [editline]31st October 2013[/editline]
Because it was actually broadcast, with permission from the rightsholders, for your benefit.
Recording a publicly broadcast performance isn't the same as copying without permission.
what does this argue? music is still music [editline]31st October 2013[/editline]
but radio hosts have the legal right to play the songs did you really not know that
that's not what i was addressing [editline]31st October 2013[/editline]
I listen to music on youtube as do pretty much everyone i know. This feels like censorship rather than upholding the law.
I didn't even know most of these websites, if anything they're telling people where to find free downloads..
This shit again?
Ah yes, just like how they blocked piratebay.se, yet left pirate.co.uk open. Stirling job there chaps.
I didn't even know most of these websites, if anything they're telling people where to find free downloads..
Pretty much this. Judging from the names of those websites i wouldn't download anything from them anyway.
Pirate sites are like the Hydra, block one and another will pop up.
wait wait wait wait wait wait what TPB is a honeypot? FUCK
Guarantee Demon won't block any of them, they have absolutely no piracy filters in place. The perks of a shit isp are few, this is one of those few.
Most of those aren't even torrent sites
tbh i think a more passive way to discourage piracy is the best way to do it. direct shit like blocking sites and pressing charges will never work. i think they should find a way address people who are pirating their movies/shows and shoot them an email or something going "hey! we saw that you enjoyed pacific rim. it's out on blu ray right now, do you want to buy it?" or "we see that you downloaded season 4 of the walking dead. right now a subscription to AMC's site bullshit is on sale, click here to check it out." or something like that. don't think they'd ever consider something like that, but i think it would be a good way to encourage people who are on the fence about piracy to buy something. then again there are always shitlords who think they're entitled to everything and would pirate stuff no matter what.
They can take away my torrent sites, but they'll never take away my VPNs.

It has nothing to do with theft or shoplifting. Actually it's closer to having someone who owns a book write all the words down for you.
I'm sure those sites will be most grateful for the inevitable surge of activity from the publicity.
