Of all the things they could have drawn, they poorly draw a smiley face? I mean at least it wasn't a giant cock or a swastika but come on.

Despite the fact that it's vandalism, I think it's a little refreshing to see something lighthearted like this instead of something vulgar or offensive.

Whenever something truly historical is defaced, it really doesn't matter. It just adds to that item's history.

I kind of agree with that. I mean, it's not been crushed or stolen unlike some of the historical areas in every major city that are torn down without so much as a marker.
