[release]Activision Blizzard latest earning call revealed that World of Warcraft lost another 300,000 subscribers last quarter, following the loss of 600k subscribers announced last quarter. In this conference call we also learned that: The next patch will include "major raid and dungeon content", we can most likely expect a raid and a 5-man from Patch 4.3 Patch 4.3 will be the "largest content update since Cataclysm" It will be released later this year, which means that we can probably expect a PTR soon. It's also worth noting that despite the loss of players, Mike Morhaime pointed out that the new trial system resulted in an increase in new account creations. For more details on the earning call, go check the coverage on sites such as Venturebeat or Gamasutra. www.mmo-champion.com[/release] It seems like Cataclysm can't quite live up to the hype that Wrath of the Lich King created.
The game should have ended with Arthas, nothing would live up to his hype.
One of those 300k is me.
I'm tired of my account somehow being either hacked, or the stupid spam emails that keep saying stuff like "Your account password was changed" or "You are in trouble for this/that". Even though I have the authenticator thing too. Too much trouble to sort things out, so I quit WoW.
I signed up for the free trial because I'm a cheapskate, it's not a bad game, but then it's nothing special.
Warcraft 3 was the best warcraft frozen throne would have been a good ending to the series
I too am one of those 300k, feels good
It just doesn't have that feeling the other expansions had. In Wrath of the Lich King, there was enough content in 1 patch to last almost a year. In Cataclysm, there was no value in anything after 2-3 months. I unsubscribed too, but will try and see if they come up with something great again.
I also signed up for a free trial, played 10 days and after that I never signed up for a full membership. Not bad but I don't have half a life to spend with this...
Vanilla was the best. Cata is like WoW 2
So we can pay for CoD Elite!
There's a slight issue with these stats. One of the biggest is that with every expansion you get old players coming back to look and they quit again soon after. That and well, they've bastardized the game, TBC please :v:

Well that is expected, it's still hella profitable though. WoW is still kind of tempting but nah.. "no one" plays it
FUCK WOW LOL IS WHERE THE PARTYS FUCKING AT lol
If they just kept patching Vanilla I would've loved it. Vanilla was really hard, and the endgame content was EXTREMELY hard to get. In all honesty they could've just unlocked more dungeons that were harder than the one before but not the level cap so people would have more of a challenge. More dungeons like AQ20 and AQ40 with corresponding quest chains (huge ones; AQ quest chain had 49 I'm pretty sure, that all involved dungeons and raids) would be awesome.
Its really not worth the 18$ a month now that none of my friends play it anymore. So yeah i stopped playing 3 months after Cata was released.
SWG Pre-CU was the best MMO ever to come into existence. End of story.
I enjoyed the game but honestly the huge monthly fee was such a turn off. That and that you also had to pay extra cash for expensive dlcs just to get more race options.
They just didn't want to pay for the 4th damn expansion.

Every MMO (that is good) will have them, because you know, they gotta pay for server upkeep, pay their employees (who work constantly on the game), etc...
I left at the end of WotLK. I still get people asking me to join there guild through Steam. I never realized I was that great of a rogue. Never going back though. I am waiting for Guild Wars 2.
I stopped playing shortly after WotLK. Generally lost interest in the game. Grind for hours to get that epic you wanted, get it, only to be replaced by a damn green in the next expansion.
WotLK sucked
I actually have WoW starters edition and i enjoy it.I think i am going to buy it and play it for 30 days and finally decide.
I used to make my money by selling WoW accounts... Was a long and tiresome process but it was somewhat fun in the process.
EVE 4 LYFE :v:
FUCK WOW LOL IS WHERE THE PARTYS FUCKING AT lol
LoL has more elitist "You suck, I'm not winning, why haven't you memorised all the characters, items, strategies and their counters? VOTEKICK UNINSTALL THE GAME AND BURN YOUR PC" asshats than fucking DOTA did.
WotLK sucked
Wotlk player vs. player was actually the most skill-based I've ever experienced, it was pretty great. Opening PvE was just too easy, but it has some alright pve stuff in it too.
I left WoW before the 600k subscribers left. So I totally did it before quitting WoW became popular.
