Hey FP airsoft,
My AEG decided to quit, so I'll be lugging around a tri-shot for a few weeks.
How do I effectively use it against AEGs and the like?
Be agressive, 'nuff said.
Rush, slide, dive, do whatever it takes to close that distance gap as fast as you can. You may also want to equip shells with different weight bbs. .25g should do better for those longer ranges.

run forward with at least 2 others while shooting at everything- people instinctively will duck down
point barrel at enemy
pull trigger
ask this in questions thread
I might use a shotgun as a secondary if I dont use a pistol instead
I've run a shotgun a lot over the last year or so. Really a shotgun is an even better way to learn how to move than any AEG. Only problem is you can't match them. However with a good team you'll do just fine. Even without, stick to all the close quarters sections of a field that you can.
I've used a cheap ebay spring shotgun at the field that shoots over a good 100+ft with .30's.
We call it the Magic Shotgun.
Act like some kind of Rambo commando with it. Like the other said, you would ideally need to play aggressively, don't forget to strafe and stuff because most airsofters aren't good enough to hit a moving target even at close range.
straffing makes you invincible
Maruzen shotguns = best shotguns

Some kid tried that and I lit hit up from 10 feet with my MP5 on full auto. Not so much.
Why do you people keep bumping this?
Someone make a shotgun megathread. Mine is coming tomorrow.
Learn to snap, learn to slam fire. Take time with your shots but don't be afraid to move. With a shotgun you can't really stay still too long because the longer you stay in one place the more likely you will have to go head to head with an AEG. Coming from lots of experience running a trishot against AEGs and the like it will take you a while to get good with it. Give it a week or two of play to see what i mean.
Learn to snap?

Why full auto? That's kind of excessive, it's hard to miss anything at ten feet even if it's throwing a rubber knife at someone.
At least in my experience, it's very difficult to get close enough to someone that it's easy for them to hit me while strafing. Three people firing from three different angles, two of them almost straight ahead, weren't able to stop me when I went across open ground from behind a cardboard box to a dirt pile. It could have something to do with all our fields sucking though.

I'm guessing he means snap aiming?
Take advantage of the fact that you aren't using a super loud hicap.
